WEATHER PROTOCOL
The tournament is very aware of the inclement weather in the forecast for Friday and also aware that families are driving in from out of town. We will publish a weather update to the homepage on Friday at 11:00AM along with an e-mail regarding the status of Saturday match times. Please know your safety is a top priority for us when it comes to decision making. The weather forecast for the rest of the weekend is clear and we are confident you will enjoy your tournament experience here.

General Schedule
Play will begin Saturday morning with doubles and singles to follow. Chick-fil-A lunch will be provided to all players Saturday. Sunday will be similar, with most play finishing on Sunday late afternoon. Finals and playoffs of the East draw will conclude Monday along with the finals of the Northeast draw.

Check In
All players must check in at the tournament desk 15 minutes prior to first match. This will be the time to turn in the tennis parent form/medical waiver and receive your tournament shirt. ALL PLAYERS must submit a signed tennis parent and medical release form prior to the start of play. Click more info to print off a copy of the form to bring to check in.

Practice Courts
Indoor practice courts will be available on Friday afternoon from 4-6pm. Practice courts will also be available beginning at 7:00am on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning. All practice courts are available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE basis. Please limit your practice to a half court and 20 minutes if players are waiting.

PlaySight and Live Streaming
PlaySight If tournament players want to utilize PlaySight technology to record their match, they must create a free PlaySight account BEFORE arriving to the tournament. Flow of play WILL NOT be interrupted for players to create accounts before their match.
Live Streaming All matches played on indoor courts 1-6 will be streaming online and can be accessed at www.ensworthlive.com with no account necessary (click More Info).

Welcome!
Welcome to the USTA Southern Winter Level 1 Championships (10 and Under Central Region). Players eligible by age and Youth Progression level from Alabama, Kentucky, and Tennessee may enter this event. This tournament is a “Pilot” - which means that the
Junior Competitive Committee is testing this before introducing it as a
permanent tournament on the Southern Schedule. Players will still receive Level
1 points.
The Ensworth Tennis Center has 6 outdoor and 6 indoor hard courts with viewing above and behind each baseline. The indoor courts feature live streaming, PlaySight technology, and digital scoreboards that tournament players and families can utilize. Players will also have access to locker rooms, lounge areas, and a hospitality room with table tennis. Lunch will be provided to players on Saturday.

Seeds have been published. The USTA Southern standing list published 1/9/18 was used to determine seeding.

Tournament Format
A 32 player Compass Draw will be used for the Boys and Girls singles divisions. Doubles will be offered as well, which guarantees players a minimum of 4 matches. Note, the tournament is limited to 32 players and selections for the tournament will be done using the USTA Southern standings list.
Scoring -- singles and doubles will use no-ad scoring
>>Singles will be best 2 out of 3 short sets to 4, win by two (set tiebreak at 4-4), with a regular set tiebreak in lieu of the third set. >>Doubles will play one set to six, with a tiebreaker at 5-5.

Stringing services will be available on site the weekend of the tournament. Please contact the Tournament Director if you are in need of stringing services.

Birth Certificate or Green Card
All Players must have a Birth Certificate on file in the
Southern Office for proof of US Citizenship. Green cards will be accepted, but
passports will not. This event is restricted to the following Jr. players: U.S.
Citizens; Permanent Resident Aliens; Diplomats, Refugees/Asylees; CTA. Refer to
USTA Regulation III.A.2a. For questions regarding if your player’s Birth
Certificate is on file, or to submit a Birth Certificate, email birthcertificates@sta.usta.com
and be sure to include the players’ name, USTA number, and current City/State.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, December 31, 2017 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
