WEATHER UPDATES
Saturday 5:40 All consolation matches are cancelled for tomorrow. We will try to finish Main Draw with 2 out of 3 set matches with tiebreaker for third. Please check your draw and schedule at 7:30 tonight. Saturday 4:20 Our goal today is to complete all matches in Main Draw to the Quarterfinals. We would like to get to the semi final for Boy's 12s. We also want to get the the Round of 16 or better in consolation.
If we can do this, we will do regular matches for Main Draw and Short Matches for consolation tomorrow, and are hopeful we can complete Main Draw and Consolation for this event.
It is drizzling again, but we hope to begin playing matches shortly. We may have a window of dry weather.
We are prioritizing all matches in progress first. We then want to complete all Main Draw Round of 16 matches for Boy's 16 and Quarterfinal Main Draw matches for Boy's 12s.
If you are not playing in these draws and are not currently on court, you will not play tonight. Please check the tournament website for your time tomorrow later tonight.
Saturday 3:25 PM Courts are wet again, we will not start all matches that were on court not before 4:45 PM. Next weather update in 30 mins.
Saturday 2:23 PM Courts are drying very fast and we are able to send people on court starting 2:30 for warm up and play. We wont penalize you if you are not ready but if all 4 players are ready we'll start. All other scheduled matches are about 1 hour and 45 minutes behind schedule. It means if you have a 3:00 scheduled match, you do not have to play before 4:45. We though would like for you to check in earlier if you can, because we would like to make up time if at all possible.

Doubles Pairings
An important change to note is the correct way to register for doubles online, which is used in the CMZ Doubles for 2018. Players may register with or without a partner. If you register with a partner you MUST indicate your partner through the online registration system before the entry deadline. Both player need to correctly identify their doubles partner during either their initial process, or by going back to the home page of the tournament after registration, prior to the entry deadline and use "Edit Registration" to "Indicate Doubles Partner" link to indicate the partner of their choice. Correct doubles registration is the player's responsibility. Immediately after registering, player need to check the Applicant List to ensure that they are registered with their partner of choice (and check to see that their partner is also registered with them.) Please email the tournament director for assistance if necessary. THE TOURNAMENT DIRECTOR CANNOT PAIR YOU UP IF ONLY ONE PLAYER HAS INDICATED THE PARTNER. BOTH PLAYERS MUST BE PAIRED.

Requalification Rules - CMZ
Super Champ players looking to re-qualify can do so by singing up for one of the singles CMZs or the Doubles CMZ, but cannot play in the singles division of the Super Champ Level in April in addition to a CMZ.
|
Doubles CMZ Timeline
The entry deadline for the CMZ Doubles is Sunday, April 15th at midnight. Players who qualify in the Singles CMZ earlier in April should withdraw from this tournament prior to the deadline as they will not be eligible to play. Players will have a 24 hour grace period after entries have closed to contact the tournament director with any errors in their doubles registration. After that 24 hour grace period, if both players are not registered with each other, then they will become individually registered doubles players. They will be paired with another individually registered player based on their order in the current Standings list, if a player is available.

How Is Seeding Determined?
The seeding for doubles is based on the current Champs Standing List (rank position, not points) in each age group. The standing of both players were combined to create a team ranking. For example, if one player is #4 on the standing list and another player is #28, their combined ranking is 32. Teams are placed in order based on this combined ranking. The lower the total ranking, the higher the seeding.Ties are broken by having the highest ranked individual player's team receiving the higher seed.

Playing Singles and Doubles CMZs
CMZ players may play in both the singles and doubles CMZ within the same month. Players who qualify for Champs during the April Challengers WILL NOT be eligible to compete in the April CMZ Doubles. Players who qualify for Supers in the April Singles CMZ ARE NOT eligible to play in the CMZ Doubles and should withdraw prior to the entry deadline. Players who qualify in April cannot play at the next level until May.

First-off Consolation – All Challengers and CMZs use the First Off Consolation Format. This format will show as Single Elimination on the tournament homepage, but all players are guaranteed two matches. This format eliminates “maybe matches” and almost every player in consolation will play their first consolation match on Saturday. How does it work? Players that lose in the main draw will be fed into the consolation draw in the order that they come off the court (i.e. the first player to come off the court will go on line one, the sixth player to come off the court will go on line six). This new format ensures more players playing on Saturday and an overall better tournament.

Excessive Overrule Guideline: The USTA Texas Officials Committee along with the Competitive Department has established a guideline in reference to excessive overrules as clarified in the Friend at Court. This guideline states "Once a player has been overruled for a second time in a match, they will be cautioned that after another overrule, they will be penalized for unsportsmanlike conduct under the point penalty system."

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.

USTA Texas "No Late Entries" Policy for Juniors Due to a new USTA Texas internal procedure, junior division players will NOT be able to register for a tournament after the online published deadline. We are aware that currently parents reach out via email or phone to the USTA Texas staff and/or tournament director requesting to be manually added to the tournament after online registration has closed. If a player misses the registration deadline, then he/she will not be permitted to participate in that tournament
|
Registration Confirmation: As a parent or player it is your responsibility to assure registration in the event. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
