Good evening Everyone!!
Another long day with tons of matches!! Great job to all players and a special congratulations to those players who have made it all the way to the Colorado State Mountain Ocean Junior Open Finals Day!!
I am working on the full schedule of play for Finals Day especially for matches that have not been posted. Any match time that has already been scheduled and posted online as of Monday, 10:30pm will not change unless by agreement or request from the players. Matches will not be scheduled prior to 9am.
Please be aware that all matches will be played at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center in Boulder. We have concluded our matches at CU South and would like to thank the University of Colorado for the wonderful partnership opportunity with the RMTC that has allowed us to use their incredibly beautiful CU South to grow the sport of tennis in Colorado and the Intermountain Region.
Good luck to all players on Finals Day!
All the best, Kendall Chitambar Director of Tennis Rocky Mountain Tennis Center

We are looking forward to a wonderful event in Boulder, Colorado with SINGLES, DOUBLES, & MIXED! Thank you for joining us!

Tournament Format & Scoring
All draws are limited to 32 players in singles and will utilize Compass Draw or other "non-elimination" formats that lead to advancement for all players regardless of results where there are 6 players or more and provide each player a minimum of three to four matches. In addition, we will be using first match consolation for all doubles events. The purpose of this format is to provide players in each event with an equitable amount of competitive experiences to help promote their player development. This will provide a minimum of 3 matches of singles, 2 matches of same gender doubles, and 2 matches of mixed doubles! Get your favorite partner and get ready for a lot of tennis!!
All doubles draws greater than 3 teams will be using the fast-becoming-popular "FAST-FOUR" scoring format with the idea of promoting a "2 out of 3" format for doubles. The version of "Fast-Four" we will be using is a USTA approved scoring format of 2 sets to 4 games with tiebreakers to 7 points (win by 2) to decide each set at 4-4 and a 7-point tiebreaker in lieu of a 3rd set. [Doubles draws of 3 teams or fewer will be playing 2 out of 3 sets to 6 games with a 10 point tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set.]
Singles scoring format for all main and consolation draws will be 2 out of 3 sets to 6 games with a 10 point tiebreaker in lieu of the 3rd set.
Please be aware that due to the number of matches and a more complex schedule juggling singles, doubles, and mixed, players will be limited to one age group.
This event is a 10s Tagged and a 12's Green Ball Series Event. We strongly support Green ball play to the highest levels of 12 & under competition! We encourage our open level juniors aged 12 & under to take this wonderful opportunity to compete their hardest with each other on the ball that doesn't bounce so high!
