DRAW DELAY
Due
to the new progression rules in the USTA we are having a hard time getting a
few kids into the correct divisions. These kids have been trying to register
since before registration closed but because of the new eligibility rules the
system won’t allow them to register even though they are eligible. We have been
working with the sections to get this fixed but we are now waiting for Tennislink
to fix the problem. This is going to delay
us getting the draws out at our normal time. Even though some draws are
complete, they are still affected because of scheduling and it will take some
extra time. We will get them up ASAP.
Thank you for your patience on this. Sorry
for the delay.

FIRST 16 PLAYERS ACCEPTED
The first 16 players to register in each event will be accepted. #17 on will be put on an alternate list in the order of the date and time registered. Please print a copy of your registration confirmation for verification of date and time registered. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE 4 MATCHES UNLESS WE HAVE A FULL 16-PLAYER DRAW. WE ARE DOING ALL WE CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT TO OUR DATABASE SO MORE DRAWS WILL BE FULL.
|
ALTERNATES
As posted above, this tournament only accepts the first 16 players in each division. Each player after 16 will be put on an alternate list in the order they registered. The alternate list is posted above. Please check them to see if you are an alternate. There will be an option to play in a 2nd draw but this draw will be worth NO POINTS.
|
SECOND DRAW
This tournament is a compass draw and can only accept the first 16 players in each draw. We have had an overwhelming response to our tournaments and have many alternates waiting to play. We would like to give these people an opportunity to play, so we will create a second draw to accommodate them. However, this second draw will have NO POINTS AWARDED. This will be your choice to play in this draw. If you are an alternate please contact us to let us you would like to play in this draw.

DRAW TYPE

COMPASS DRAW
This format is a wonderful format to give players an opportunity to play lots of matches. It also can accommodate different ability levels in one draw. It works best for 8, 16, 32 or 64 players, so that there are no byes are in the draw. At the end of each round, the winners continue in their tournament in the same direction, while the losers move to other points on the compass to form a new satellite tournament.
* At the end of round 1:
* The winners go east
* The losers go west
* At the end of round 2:
* The east losers go north
* The west losers go south
* At the end of round 3:
* The east losers go northeast
* The north losers go northwest
* The west losers go southwest
* The south losers go southeast
* At the end of round 4:
* The losers are out of the tournament (unless it is announced in writing before the start of the first match of the tournament that there will be semifinal play-offs);
* The winners play the finals on each draw sheet.For a draw of 16, use only the top half of the draw at each compass point. Follow the same procedure as in a draw of 32 except that round 4 is the finals instead of the semifinals.
