Challenge.

What are NET tournaments?
This is a NET Event. A NET event is a half day non-elimination
format using round robins and short sets for all ages. Play is
offered for beginning levels of junior play. There are no ranking
points given for NET events. The goal of NET events is to make this
event a fun and enjoyable experience. Players starting out or those
who have more experience but less tournament play will play others
of like ability. Ratings such as NTRP (National Tennis Rating
Program) may be used to group players of similar ability. This
means some events may become co-ed, or mixed age groups. If you are
an advanced player this event is NOT for you.
Entry requirements:
• USTA Memberships are not required for entry level NET events and
when players register, they may do so as guests and receive a guest
number to register with.
• Players are allowed entry into only one age group event.
• Any event involving 11 to 12 years of age players will use green
balls. Older age groups will use yellow balls.
• Any events with youth progression ages will follow the section
youth progression rules. This event does not award Digital
Points or Trophies for 10 & under.
Match Format: All entry level matches scoring:
• For groups of 3 or 4 players: Best of 3, 4-game short sets (first
to win 4 games by a margin of 1 game); no-ad scoring; 7-point
tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set (first to 7 by 2).
• For groups with 5 players one short set for each match against
every player in their group.
It is strongly recommended to bring water container, sun screen and
towel. Even though no ranking points awarded for this event, NTRP
rating results for players competing against others with NTRP
ratings will be awarded rating credit to help Identify their
ability level.
