Sat 10 AM-WEATHER UPDATE
It has stopped raining. There is no wind or sun, so it will take some time to dry. Our best guess at this point is that we will start 8-9 AM matches at 12 PM. I will post another message at 11 AM to confirm match times for the day, after we have seen how the courts are drying. The next update will be at 11 AM, with no matches starting before 12 noon.
|
Sat 9 am-WEATHER UPDATE
It is still raining at STC and a new band of showering forming to the west. We are in a weather delay until 10 am. We will have another update at that time, and hopefully we will be able to set match times then.
|
Sat 6:30 am-WEATHER DELAY
We are in a rain delay until 9:00 am. It is raining at STC and there is a large band of showers to the west. A weather delay means that we will provide another update at 9:00 am. We do not know at this time when we will start play, but we will give everyone at least one hour's notice before we schedule a start time.
|
WEATHER CONCERNS
The current forecast calls for rain on Saturday morning. We will post weather updates starting at 6:30 am on the home page of the tournament, on our home page at www.southlaketennis.com, on our Facebook page and on Twitter @southlaketennis. We will do everything we can to get the matches that were scheduled for Saturday in on Saturday. If we lose 2-3 hours of court time we will most likely go to a shortened format for matches. I have sent a more detailed email to players who signed up for tournament communications. All players should try to activate this, since it allows me to send emails and text messages directly to you.

Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.

USTA Texas "No Late Entries" Policy for Juniors Due to a new USTA Texas internal procedure, junior division players will NOT be able to register for a tournament after the online published deadline. We are aware that currently parents reach out via email or phone to the USTA Texas staff and/or tournament director requesting to be manually added to the tournament after online registration has closed. If a player misses the registration deadline, then he/she will not be permitted to participate in that tournament
|
Registration Confirmation: As a parent or player it is your responsibility to assure registration in the event. Regardless if you register on the website or mobile app after completing the registration you should visit the USTA web driven site and confirm your registration by finding the player in the applicants list. If you select to skip this process please be aware that should any malfunctions of the system occur, players will not be granted late entrance in the event due to a system error.
