Update Thursday, Oct 30
Mother Nature is partly cooperating with the
tournament. The latest forecast is mostly
sunny Friday to Sunday with temperatures ranging from 41-66 degrees. Currently, there is no rain predicted.
Players’ Packages will be available for pick up from
Courtyard Swim and Tennis Club on Thursday from 4-6 pm, and then through-out
the weekend. For those that pre-ordered a
Masters shirt, it will be available in your players’ package when you arrive. All
others will have a chance to buy one of the limited supply of extra shirts we
ordered on a first come/first served basis.
We hope you will attend the Players’ Party being held at
Courtyard on Saturday from 6-8 pm. We
will have Mexican food from “Santa Rita Cantina”. All efforts have been made to
bring most of the matches to Courtyard to allow for maximum participation. During the party we will have an “informal”
pickleball tournament and will set up a few other yard games.
The snack bars at both Lost Creek Country Club and
Courtyard will be open for food and drink purchases Friday and Saturday. The Restaurant at World of Tennis is being
renovated and will not be open. We will have a food truck from “El Xolo Tacos”
on Friday and Saturday in the World of Tennis parking lot. They offer a good menu of appetizers and main
dishes. They accept cash or credit cards.
They will also be on-hand to serve lunch items at Courtyard on Sunday.
Again, congratulations for playing. Dress warmly and good luck in your matches.

ELIGIBILITY RULES AND REQUIREMENTS
1. The top 8 registered and eligible (see rule #4) players
from each division will be selected based on the 2019
Selection List rankings. This list will include the prior 12
months calculated to include the adult sanctioned tournaments
played from Sept. 10, 2018 through Sept. 8, 2019; excluding the
Simply the BEST - 2018 Texas Adult Masters Championships
tournament.
2. Players must enter online, via TennisLink, prior to the
entry deadline to be eligible for this tournament. All players may
enter, but only the top 8 selected players or teams will be charged
the entry fee.
3. EVENT LIMIT: Register for up to 5 events, but you
will only be selected to play 2 events (1 singles and 1 doubles
-OR- 2 doubles). If entering more than 2 divisions, notify TD
before the entry deadline, of your preferred selection order.
Send email to director@austintennis.org. No phone calls nor
texts will be accepted.
4. ELIGIBILITY for LEVELS divisions:
All players must have a year-end rating to be eligible for this
tournament. Self-rated, Unrated, and "0.0" Rated players will not
be eligible to play. The only exceptions are:
(a) The 2.5 DIVISION may have self-rated players. The
Tournament Committee has the right to disqualify any that are
playing outside that level.
(b) Players with a year-end "T" rating, (tournament
exclusive); or an "M" rating, (mixed exclusive); or an expired "C:
rating; who now have an "S" rating, (self-rated), due to entering
league play must submit a History Verification Waiver
Request to play. The Adult Tennis Council's subcommittee will
make final decisions in eligibility, if needed.
To request a History Verification Waiver, the player must send
an email to Nancy Perkins, NPerkins@texas.usta.com, prior to the
entry deadline. The player's USTA membership number should be
listed on the waiver request. The historical rating (T or M) must
be the same level or lower, as the current self-rating and entered
level. A waiver request and approval does not guarantee a "top 8"
spot in the tournament. Online entry is still required no later
than the entry deadline.
The following divisions do not require a rating:
● Open divisions
● Age divisions
● Husband/Wife doubles
4. If there is a tie in eligible points, it will be
broken:
● first by head-to-head play;
● second, by the best win/loss ratio of matches actually
played;
● third, by the highest point win in a single
tournament.
The Tournament Committee shall then use a random drawing among the
remaining tied players to determine their order of entry.
5. Doubles entry is based on individual rankings. The top 8
players who enter and are eligible can select any eligible partner.
That chosen partner must have played in at least one Texas Section
sanctioned tournament within the 12-month ranking year in that
category (levels/age, etc.), in which they are entering. Partners
are not required to have played together prior to the Adult Masters
Championships. Both partners must enter online before the entry
deadline (October 13) and select one another.
6. Doubles teams will be seeded by the highest ranking
regardless of partnership, with the highest-ranking player being
seeded #1, the next highest-ranking seeded #2, etc.
7. If a draw does not have 8 eligible, ranked players or
teams, a subcommittee will consider other players that have entered
by the entry deadline, and are eligible, to complete the
draw.
8. Each division will feature round-robin pool play. Each
division will be divided by ranking position into two pools of
four. The 1st, 4th, 5th, and 8th seeds in one pool, and the 2nd,
3rd, 6th, and 7th seed in the other. The winners of each pool will
play each other for the Championship.
9. Format. All round-robin pool play matches will be
best 2 out of 3 sets with a 10-pt tiebreak in lieu of a third set.
All Finals will be best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets.
Player Selection TypePlayers are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry TypeEntry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, October 13, 2019 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
