"NEW" - Curtis Consolation-MFIC for Level 2 tournaments
Purpose: For players to play in more matches with more equitable competition. Adds a layered 2nd consolation called Curtis Draw (losers R16 & QF—12 total players). This is the best option to optimize the players’ competition. We are doing this because the L2’s are a THREE DAY TOURNAMENT only, and with the R16, the loser of the R16 only plays 1 match because the consolation had to catch up. The Curtis Draw allows players to play 2 matches when they lose in the R16 and do not have to wait for consolation to catch up. Results: More points for players who reach the Curtis Draw because they lost deeper in the main draw. This changes the Main Draw type from FIC-R16 to MFIC (Modified Feed-In Consolation, where only the first 2 rounds of losers get automatically placed in the consolation). The Curtis Draw is a manual procedure outlined below. Round Reached: Main Draw Finishes. MFIC (regular consolation) ends at Finals; Curtis Draw ends at Finals, so only 2 matches are left unplayed. Procedure for creating Curtis Draw In TDM under Events, select “Create Event” · Event Name: Age Division-Curtis Draw (ex: Boys’ 16 Curtis Draw) · Division: Age Division (Boys’ 16 Singles) · Court Size/Ball Type: 78’ Court/Yellow Ball · Draw Type: Single Elimination · Scoring Method: 2/3 with tiebreak for 3rd · Select “OK” Once Event is Created, you manually add the following players to the Curtis Draw: · 8 losers of the R16 o Look at the draw below for line placement for the losers. · 4 losers of QF (you will not know these players until AFTER QF are played)—you will put BYES IN FOR 8 PLACES. o The R16 losers are all playing at the same time as the QF Main Draw (both 2nd matches of the day) o For scheduling purposes, the below 12 placeholders are already in TDM for your use when creating this draw. You will add players from the main draw as they lose.

Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have properly defaulted. We understand that emergencies and unexpected situations arise. As such, only the Head Referee will accept a withdrawal over the phone.
