Dr. Valverde is a regular contributor at National Championships and will be available for individual consultations during the event. Don't miss this great opportunity!
FREE 20-MINUTE MENTAL TOUGHNESS CONSULTATION Dr. Jorge Valverde, a renowned psychologist who has developed a specialized system to train the minds of tennis players in a positive and effective way, will be providing 20-minute free consultations (compliments of the Tournament) for players, parents and coaches during the tournament. This is an excellent opportunity for players who want to develop mental toughness.
Dr. Valverde graduated from the University of Kansas with a Doctoral dissertation research on the mental preparation of highly ranked tennis players. EVENTS
Singles: Boys' and Girls' singles 192 (Changed in 2016) draw with Feed-in championship through quarterfinals and playoff matches for 3/4 places. Play in the FIC is mandatory. Semifinal losers in the main draw are required to play the 3/4 playoff match. The Singles official draw will be made Wednesday, June 6. The draw will be posted online after noon, Thursday, June 7. Doubles: Boys' and Girls' doubles will be single elimination with a 3/4 playoff. NO INFORMATION ABOUT THE DRAW WILL BE GIVEN BY PHONE.

ALTERNATES
All applicants NOT admitted to the main draw shall be listed in order, to be moved into the main draw if/when spaces become available. * The order will be based on Southern Standings.
* To find out the order go to the Alternates lists in the Reports Section at the top of the Important Info page. Alternate lists will be posted as soon as possible and updated often thereafter.
* If you are an alternate from your state and are NOT admitted on June 6 or thereafter, you may do any or all of the following: 1) Stand by as an on-site alternate on Saturday, June 9 for all first round matches 2) Stand by as an on-site alternate on Sunday, June 10 for the second round matches that involve players that received a bye in the first round *** If you are an alternate, please make sure the tournament has accurate contact information so that you may be contacted when needed.

REST PERIODS BETWEEN SINGLES MATCHES
The following heat policy will be implemented: When players are scheduled to play 2 singles matches in one day, they will be offered a rest period equal to the length of their first match (up to 3 hours). They will be offered a minimum of 2 hours rest regardless of first match length. This rest period guideline does not apply to doubles.

3-Minute Coaching Break
In matches playing a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set there will be a 3-minute coaching break between the end of the second set and the match-deciding tiebreak. This 3-minute break is treated the same as the 2-minute set break between first and second sets, except that players may receive coaching on the court. Players may not leave the court. unless requesting a toilet break. The toilet break will be taken after the 3-minute coaching break. No coaching is allowed during the toilet break for either player.

ON-SITE ALTERNATES
*On-site alternates must arrive at the site where your division is being played prior to matches being played for which you want to be considered. *You must sign the ordered alternate sheet and remain at that site. *If a vacancy occurs, the highest ranked "signed-in" alternate will be admitted. * Once the on-site alternate is paged, he/she will have 4 minutes to report.
* If he/she takes longer than 4 minutes to report, he/she will be bypassed until a subsequent vacancy occurs.

ELECTRONIC DEVICES PROHIBITED ON COURT
Players may not use electronic devises on court that are designed for communication (cell phones, etc.) or data storage/display (pocket notebook, rolodex, word processor, etc.). Use of these devices will result in immediate code violation for unsportsmanlike conduct. (A device that is in the "ON" mode constitutes use.) Notes and printed materials brought on court for reference with a player are permitted.

We will be using the Wilson US Open ball for all matches.

PRACTICE COURTS
Saturday - Tuesday, Burns Park Burns Park Tennis Center has three outdoor courts on Saturday and Sunday, June 9 and 10 that will not be used for the tournament and are designated as warm-up courts for the entire tournament. On Monday and Tuesday, there will be seven courts available for warm-up (assuming there are no weather-related issues) from 8 AM - 1 PM. These courts are on a first-come, first-serve basis and you may need to share. Burns Park also has indoor courts. These courts must be reserved. The Burns indoor court phone number is 501-791-8585. These courts will be available all week.
Courts 3 and 4 at Rebsamen Tennis Center all week These courts will not be used for tournament play and are designated for practice for the entire tournament. You must keep your warm-up time to a maximum of 45 minutes and you must share the court. Any academies bringing multiple players may only occupy one court at a given time.
Saturday and Sunday, June 9-10, 8 AM - 2:00 PM Pleasant Valley Country Club - 3 Pleasant Valley Dr, Little Rock, AR 72212 The PV courts are first come, first serve. These are closer to Rebsamen and Otter Creek. You must share court time.
Wednesday - Friday Burns Park Tennis Center We will not be using Burns Park for play after Tuesday so all courts will be available for warm-up there on Wednesday onward.
Friday, June 8 All courts at Rebsamen will be first come first serve. Courts are free to use but they are not for reservations. Please share courts if we become full. You may also go to Burns Park if you like on the 9th. Outdoor courts will be available.
