WHAT IS AN FTC EVENT?
FTC events are one-day team tennis events for entry-level players
who are looking to get started with competition. Players will be
expected to know how to keep track of scores! We want to create a
friendly environment for 10U Orange and 12U Green Level players
that will encourage players to continue to compete!
LOCATION AND TIME
The event will be a one-day team tennis tournament.
It will be hosted at the Broadstone Racquet Club in Folsom and will
happen from 11:30am to 5pm.
Each division will play at separate times. Each event (Orange and
Green Level) will take about 2 hours to complete. Players do not
need to stay for the whole duration of the event and can leave
after their division has completed play.
PLAYER REGISTRATION
Players will register individually and then be placed into teams.
The event will have both Singles and Doubles play.
SCORING AND MATCH FORMAT
ORANGE BALL - 4 game short-set or 15 minutes, whichever
comes first.
Play will be on a 60' court with an Orange Ball and players racquet
size cannot exceed 25".
GREEN BALL - 6 game set or 20 minutes, whichever comes
first.
Play will be on a 78' court with a Green Dot Ball and players
racquet size cannot exceed 27".
SINGLES AND DOUBLES TEAM MATCHES
Players will have the opportunity to compete in multiple singles
and doubles matches throughout the event.
DRAW FORMAT
A round robin format will be played. There will be a total of 4
teams, with each team playing 3 matches. Each team will have 4-6
players. There will be 3 rounds of play, with 2 singles matches and
1 doubles match played per round. The total number games won per
round will determine the winner of the round.
AWARDS
Players will be awarded participation credits that will count
towards the Youth Progression. Prizes will also be given out to
participants both for their results as well as their efforts and
sportsmanship.
