USTA NorCal is hosting Individual Sectional Championships for 10U Orange and Green players to showcase high-performance ROGY players in the area!

LOCATION
On Saturday June 24, two different locations will be used on the UC Santa Cruz campus. Please refer to the emailed pdf version of the campus map.
On Sunday, all matches will be held at the EAST COURTS on HAGAR DRIVE.
The UC Santa Cruz campus is located at 1156 High St, Santa Cruz, CA 95064. However, there are 2 separate sites on campus that will be used. Please make sure to refer to the instructions as well as the PDF map that was emailed to all participants.
Girs' Orange and Boy's Green Ball - East Courts (look up "OPERS Wellness Center" on the UC Santa Cruz campus in Google Maps). The main road is Hagar Drive. Parking is available for free all weekend in lots 103A, 103B, and the East Remote Lot.
Girls' Green and Boys' Orange Ball - West Courts (look up "Rachel Carlson College" on the UC Santa Cruz campus in Google Maps). The main road is Heller Drive. Parking is available for free all weekend in lots 146, 160, 161, 162

START TIMES
The first round of matches will start at 10am on both Saturday and Sunday. Please make sure to check the draws and schedules for match times.

LIMITED DRAW SIZES
Draws will be limited to 16 Singles players. Please note that there are separate draws for Boys and Girls in this tournament - this means 16 Boys will be selected and 16 Girls will be selected.

SELECTION PROCESS
Players will be selected based on match play history (number of matches won).
|
DRAWS
A 16-player Compass Draw will be used for Singles.
Please note: There will be matches on BOTH days of this tournament.

SCORING AND MATCH FORMATS
For Orange Ball matches, all singles matches will be best 2 out of 3 short sets with a third set match 10-point tiebreak.
For Green Ball matches, all singles matches will be best 2 out of 3 sets with a third set match 10-point tiebreak.

CHECK IN
Please make sure to check in no later than 15 minutes before the start of each match. Make sure that you are ready to play when you check-in! Please fill water jugs and use the restroom prior to checking in. Lateness will be penalized according to our NorCal USTA rules.

WARM UP COURTS
Warm up courts are only available from 9am-10am before the first matches of each day.

FOOD OPTIONS
Players will be responsible for their own meals. Snacks will be provided but full meals will not be offered.

HOTEL AND LODGING
Since the event will take place over 2 days and matches will begin early in the morning, it is a good idea to turn this tournament into a weekend getaway trip! If you live more than 2 hours away from Santa Cruz, it would be a good idea to the take the family on a weekend trip to enjoy the ocean and all of Santa Cruz's attractions. Hotels offer rooms for an average of $100 a night. Air BNB will offer better prices for larger living areas especially if you plan to bring the whole family.

If you have any questions or need to withdraw prior to the tournament, please email do@norcal.usta.com. All withdrawals are subject to the PPS. Players must submit proper documentation for withdrawals.If you need to withdraw from the tournament on the day of the tournament email, as well as call (408) 315-8434.

AWARDS
ALL participants will be given commemorative Sectionals gear/clothing/accessories for participating in this event. Please make sure to include your shirt sizes when you register
Trophies for 1st and 2nd place finishers will be awarded.
Participation awards will also be given to all participants.

DOUBLES
If you are interested in playing doubles, please send the tournament director, Khoa Do (Do@norcal.usta.com), an email with the player you'd like to pair up with. If you do not have a partner and would still like to play, please notify the director of the situation and we will help pair you up with another player.
Doubles format will be one 4-game set for Orange level and one 6-game set for Green level. A total of 8 teams will be accepted.

YOUTH PROGRESSION
All participants are awarded 1 extra star for participation in the Sectionals event. The same number of Stars and Trophies will be awarded for participation in a tournament as well as finishing as either the Champion or Finalist of the tournament.

RACKET LENGTH, COURT SIZE, AND BALL INFORMATION
Players must use a 23-25" racquet for the Orange Ball event. Matches in Orange will be played with the Orange Dot Ball on a 60' Court. Matches in Green will be played with the Green Dot Ball on a 78' Court. Players in the Green level can use rackets up to 27" in length.
Please note that the tournament director will ask you to change your racquet if you bring a racquet that exceeds 25" for Orange Ball (i.e. 26", 27" <27").

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, June 18, 2017 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
