SPECTATOR POLICY
ATTENTION ALL SPECTATORS (INCLUDES PARENTS, COACHES, RELATIVES, FRIENDS, ETC.): In an effort to promote a more enjoyable and fair experience for all, the following policy is in immediate force and effect, and shall be diligently and stringently enforced. USTA Texas has implemented a “ZERO TOLERANCE” policy for improper behavior, and this Mid Cities tournament supports the policy.
1. Any attempt by a spectator to speak to the official or court monitor in an abusive or disrespectful manner regarding a line call or other ruling during match play shall be cause for immediate removal from the playing area and, if warranted, from the premises.
2. Any spectator behavior deemed unacceptable towards a player, other spectator or tournament staff member shall be cause for immediate removal from the playing area or the entire premises. If said behavior is directed towards a player, either before, during or after a tournament, it shall result in an automatic and immediate removal from the site and may affect participation in future Mid Cities tournaments.
3. Refusal to adhere to a removal request shall trigger immediate enforcement of the point penalty system against the player with whom the spectator is involved (per point penalty system regulations), including possible immediate default from the tournament.
4. The On-Site official or court monitor is the SOLE judge regarding unacceptable behavior. Inappropriate umpire/spectator communication, whether it be about a ruling or any other facet of a tennis event is prohibited while a match is in progress. Being a parent, coach, etc. does not endow special privileges. With the only exception of the right to remove their own child from competition at any time, a parent or coach is merely a spectator.

All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), with no bare stomachs / abdomens. The dress code applies to players and spectators at all sites (if alternate sites are used) throughout the tournament. - Pets: Pets are prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts. If alternate locations are used for the event, it is the player's responsibility to learn in advance any regulations at specific facilities regarding pets, and to abide by those policies. - Smoking: Smoking is prohibited in the Arlington Tennis Center proshop/building and inside the fenced areas around the courts. WHY PLAY MID CITIES?
Mid Cities tournaments have been a tradition in the Fort Worth area for almost 30 years. Mid Cities tournaments are the perfect way for players age 8 to 18 to gain practical match experience against competitors in their same gender, age and skill level divisions. Mid Cities tournaments help players learn how to actually play tournaments (e.g., entering tournament, checking draws for match times, checking in at the tournament desk, reporting scores), as opposed to just going to lessons and classes, or competing in 'tournaments' that do not match players with opponents of the same age or ability. Mid Cities prepare players for more advanced competition in Challengers, or other sanctioned tournaments. Mid Cities are also convenient, one-day tournaments, which fit in well with most players' busy schedules. Join the fun and competition, and improve your match skills through Mid Cities tournaments!
