(46181 Joy Rd, Canton, MI 48187)
The Southeast Michigan Muthig Jr. Qualifier is used to determine
entry into the Midwest Closed Outdoor Championships (June 24-29,
2017) for age division 12-18. This tournament is a SEM District
Level 3, Midwest Section Level 3 for Points Per Round.
The Southeast Michigan Muthig Jr. Qualifier will be held OUTDOORS
for 2017 over ONE WEEKEND. Boys weekend June 2-5th. (Girls weekend
June 9-12th- separate entry, see Tournament ID#850118717).
IMPORTANT: NEW RULES FOR 2017 SE MICHIGAN DISTRICT
QUALIFIER:
- 2017 Qualifier Main Draw will be played to COMPLETION.
- Players MUST Play & Complete the District Qualifier to be
endorsed to the Midwest Outdoor Closed. Play & Complete is
defined as playing all points including the final point of the
match (A retirement, walkover or default in the player's final
match - including any FIC matches - will cause the player to no
longer be eligible to be endorsed to the Midwest Outdoor
Closed).
- NO APPEAL PROCESS for 2017. A player will not be endorsed if they
do not fulfill the Play & Complete Requirement.
- WILDCARD for each division. SEM will employ a "wildcard" for any
vacated Quota Spot. This means, that if a Quota Spot player in any
division vacates their Quota position (earns the Quota Spot
position by playing and completing the District Qualifier past the
endorsement line but does not play the Midwest Closed), that Quota
Spot will be given to our top Alternate in that division using the
Midwest Standing List posted after Boys District Qualifier (June
6th). Wildcards are limited to one (1) per division and will not be
used for any other reason.
BOYS DRAWS WILL BE LIMITED AS FOLLOWS:
B12s - 64 Draw
B14s - 64 Draw
B16s - 64 Draw
B18s - 48 Draw
The Southeast Michigan District Endorses (approves) players for
Quota (guaranteed) entry plus Alternates into the Midwest Outdoor
Closed Championships. Southeast Michigan will receive 12 Quota
Spots (guaranteed entry into the Midwest Closed Outdoor
Championships). These 12 Endorsed Quota Spot players will be the
Quarter-finalists in the main and consolation draw, who play and
complete the Southeast Michigan District Qualifier. Should an
Endorsed Quota Spot Player not be able to play in the Midwest
Outdoor Closed Championships, that Quota Spot will either be filled
by a "wildcard" or will be lost (only 1 wildcard per division is
available) and added to the Alternates pool of the Midwest Closed
Outdoor Championships. All other players who play and complete the
Southeast Michigan Qualifier will be endorsed as Alternates into
the Midwest Closed Outdoor Championships in order of their Standing
Position on the Midwest Section Standing List published after the
last weekend of all District Qualifiers (June 20th). Alternates
will be taken into the Midwest Closed Outdoor Championships from
ONE pool of alternates at the Midwest Section level.
