All players must check in 15 minutes prior to their 1st doubles match which is their 1st mandatory match of the tournament.

You will either play at SMC (Saint Mary's College) or CAL HIGH (California High School). You will only play at one site for the length of the tournament which is indicated by SMC or CAL HIGH next to your flight number. Practice courts can be found below for these locations.

Alternate List: Remaining On and Withdrawing From
If you were not selected into the tournament and wish to remain on the alternate list there is no need to contact either the Tournament Director or Head Referee. It will be assumed that you still wish to play and selections will be made based on UTR rating. You will be contacted by phone and e-mail if there is an opening.
If you wish to be removed from the alternate list for any reason or to sign-up for and play another tournament you must contact the Tournament Director at tournamentinquiries@gmail.com, CC the Head Referee at lonnie.gibbsjr@ymail.com, and place in the subject, "Please Remove John Doe From Alternate List." In the body of the e-mail please state the reason.

Tournament Information
Tournament Selection: Max 136 Players, 68 Girls and 68 Boys, Top Down Selection based on UTR Rating.
Please remember Doubles is required and all players are expected to participate.
Important UTR Round Robin Information. Players will play exactly 3 singles matches and 1 doubles match unless there is a withdrawal. You will get a solid amount of competitive tennis over a 2 day period. UTR Round Robins are ratings-based tournaments that group players with similar ability into 4-player round robins. This means a 14-year-old may play a 16-year-old in one singles match, a 15-year-old in another, and finally a 17-year-old in their last singles match. All events use a yellow ball on a 78’ court and a player’s racquet may not exceed 29” in length.

Late Entries: Late entries are accepted if there is space available. Please e-mail tournamentinquiries@gmail.com, with your player's name and USTA number. A method of payment will be set up via e-mail.
Round Robin Singles Draw: All singles draws will be 4-player round robin draws providing players 3 singles matches. Player Selection and Flighting. Using the most recently available Universal Tennis Ratings players will be selected and flighted into 4-player round robin draws so that players with similar ratings are in each round robin draw. Norcal Players who have played Yellow Ball tournaments will have a Universal Tennis Rating.
Doubles Required: The four players in each round robin draw will be randomly paired into two doubles teams and will play one doubles match. Participation in doubles is required.
Match and Scoring Formats. Singles. The singles match format will be 2 out 3 sets, with a 10-Point Match Tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set (regular scoring). Doubles. The doubles match format will be an 8 game Pro-Set (regular scoring).
Universal Tennis Ratings. Ratings are based on a player’s most recent 30 singles match results. The ratings are assigned between number 1 and 16, with 1 being the lowest and 16 the highest.
Ranking Points. Each match win earns a player 62 NorCal ranking points. Checking In: Please check in 15 minutes before your first singles match, ready to go, with all of your equipment etc.
Ball Type: Penn Championship Extra Duty
Awards: Winners of each 4-player singles round robin will receive a Championship Trophy.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Monday, July 3, 2017 11:59:00 PM Pacific Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
