The men's 50, 55, 75, 80 and 85 are events in this
tournament.
The women's 70 and 75 are events in this tournament.
The women's 50 and 60 and men's 60, 65, and 70 events are being
held at the Senior Slams Clay Court at Concord Country Club in
July.
Singles play for men's 75, 80 and 85 events will start THURSDAY
afternoon, or Friday if draws are 4 or less. Doubles matches will
start Saturday unless there are draws of more than 8 teams. In
those cases, the first round of doubles can start Friday
afternoon.
The notes below will be updated as information becomes available -
please check back! All entrants will receive prizes and a Slams
booklet.
DRESS CODE: Suitable tennis attire is required and shirts must be
worn. Tennis shoes must be worn at all times on the courts (no bare
feet).
Unacceptable: Cut-off shorts, running shorts, bathing suits, tank
tops and t-shirts (other than those specifically designed as tennis
wear, i.e. solid colors with no print other than club or
manufacturer's logo or accent)
ONE RECOMMENDED INN: Best Western Concord has rooms with breakfast
included. Three rooms will be reserved with queen size beds at
$143.10 per night plus tax. Three rooms will be reserved with
double beds at $152.00 plus tax. Reservation is released a month
before the start date of the tournament.. Call 978-369-6100 and ask
for the ConcordCCRate to get the discounted rate.
Lunches are available at the snack bar near the courts. A players
lunch will be provided for players and significant others on
Saturday .Additionally, on Saturday evening starting at 4:00 will
be a cocktail party with wine, beer and snacks as well as a drawing
for some nice prizes.
Consolation format will be regular scoring except a 10-Point Match
Tiebreak will be used in lieu of a full 3rd set. For very bad
weather, other abbreviated formats may be used. Use of indoor
backup may require extra fees.
All singles matches will use single sticks. There will be playoffs
for 3rd and 4th places, depending on the size of the draw.
Number of entries will be limited to make sure the courts are not
overloaded. The order of selection for unranked players is at the
discretion of the tournament director. If there are insufficient
registrants in any event, registrants may be requested to play in a
different division.
Prizes for winners and finalists will be Slam special prizes.
Consolation winners will receive other prizes.
Player Selection TypePlayers are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
