Scheduling, Check in, Rules, Formats, etc.
After you sign up for the tournament, your credit card will not be charged
until after the deadline for everyone to register for the tournament closes.
For this tournament, Sunday, July 9, 2017 is the deadline (1 minute before
midnight) and the entries will be processed on Monday, which is when your
credit card will be charged.
Check first round times when draws are posted in the evening on Monday, July
Although this tournament is designed to be a one-day event, be prepared to play
both days (July 12 and 13) if weather necessitates. This is a non-elimination format
tournament and will use short scoring formats, so be prepared to play multiple
matches. In the case of inclement weather, matches may have to rescheduled. If
you are unsure, check with the Tournament Director. These tournaments are for
the children, and we will do everything we can to help you with anything you do
not know or need help with.
Please have your child check in at the tournament desk at least 30
minutes prior to your child's first scheduled match time. If courts are
open, we will put your child's match on sooner and help keep the tournament on
schedule. Please keep in mind that there is a 15 minute default period under
USTA rules. A player who does not check in by the time he/she is scheduled to
play, will be put on the clock for being late and penalized according to the
rules in relation to the untimeliness. After 15 minutes, the match is then
defaulted and your child will not get to play the match. This is why it is so
important to check in early. Plan to
arrive early in case there is traffic or an accident or anything that can delay
you arriving early/on-time. Also, ALL
players (win or lose) must report back to the tournament desk
immediately after each match.
Players need to check in for their 1st match AT LEAST 30 minutes prior to
the scheduled time.
Considering the non-elimination format (therefore multiple matches
according to the number of entries in each draw), and considering the goal to play all matches on one-day, no-ad scoring will be used in all matches
with one of the following short-scoring formats:
* one set, with a 7-point tiebreaker played at 6-6.
* 2 of 3 short sets, using no add scoring, with a 7-point tiebreaker played at
4-4, and, if necessary, a 7-point tiebreaker in lieu of a third-set.
*2 of 3 full sets, using no add scoring, with a 7-point tiebreaker played at 6-6,
and, if necessary, a 7-point tiebreaker in lieu of a third-set.
Note: The format for each division will be determined after entries close.
