Notes
We have indoor courts, so the tournament will happen even if
it is raining, and the starting times will remain the
same.
After signing in to the club at the Front Desk, check-in at the
Tournament Desk (at the foot of the stairs near the gym) NO LATER
than either 7:45 a.m. for the 10 & unders, except Bisht, Nau, A
and K Penickova in the Girls 10. They, along with ALL 12
& under players must check in at the tournament desk NO LATER
than 12:45pm.
If it is dry, all players will play BOTH singles and doubles. If
it is wet, all of the singles will be played, but some of the
doubles will not be played.
No one is eliminated. Players are expected to be onsite
and ready to play for the ENTIRE 4 1/2 hours, whether they win or
lose.
(Except for Bisht, Nau, A and K Penickova), the 10
& unders will play in the morning only and the 12 & unders
will play in the afternoon only.
PATHWAY REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPETING IN TOURNAMENTS USTA
NorCal has established a pathway for players aged 12 and under to
enter into the competitive tournament structure. The purpose of the
pathway is to ensure that juniors are playing at their appropriate
age and skill level. The pathway is mandatory. Information on the
pathway and the requirements of each level can be found at
www.norcal.usta.com/juniors/TAUT_junior_development_pathway/.
PLAYER INFORMATION
1. The Tournament Desk and courts are located at ClubSport Fremont,
46650 Landing Pkwy, at the corner of Warren Blvd, which is on the
west side of Hwy 880 at the south end of Fremont. (See Driving
Directions below.)
2. All players and guests must sign in at Front Desk upon
arrival.
3. Check-In at the Tournament Desk (near the gym) by 7:45
for 10 & unders and by 12:45 for 12 & unders to
receive instructions. Be fully ready walk onto the court to play at
that time. Unless notified otherwise by a tournament worker, remain
at the desk until your match is called. (Please fill up your water
bottle and use the restroom before checking-in.)
4. Snack Bar hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Complimentary light snacks
will be available in the tennis hallway throughout
tournament.
5. The draws in each age group are limited to a maximum of 32
players in multiples of 8.
6. The tournament uses the "Player Selection Process." After
submitting on online entry, the person's name is put on the
Applicant list. If more than a multiple of 8 boys and 8 girls are
received by the deadline, we will select players by lot. According
to USTA NorCal regulations, entry is NOT on a FIRST COME - FIRST
SERVED basis. After the entry deadline, the tournament committee
processes the entries, which might include drawing names out of the
hat to pare down the list to a manageable number of players. Each
applicant who is selected will receive an email confirming their
placement into the tournament, and their credit card will be
charged for the entry fee. The others will be put on the Alternate
list. For the players on the Alternate list, their entry fee will
not be charged to their credit card. If someone withdraws after the
draws have been posted on this website, a player from the Alternate
list will be chosen randomly to fill the spot, and will be notified
by phone and/or email. That person would then need to submit the
entry fee before being put into the draw because it can no longer
be charged by the system.
7. Draws will be posted by Wednesday. However, no times will be
posted since all 10 & unders will play at 7:45 and all 12 &
unders will play at 12:45. Players will play BOTH singles (3
matches) and doubles (2 matches). Players who enter without
specifying a doubles partner will be paired up at random by the
Tournament Director.
8. Entrants will play multiple matches (whether they win or lose)
in the 4 1/2 hour timeslot.
All matches use No-Ad scoring (i.e. the first player to win 4
points, ahead by 1, wins the game).
All matches are either 25 minutes or one 6 game set (whichever
comes first), with a standard tie-break (first to win 7 points) at
5-all.
There will be no playoffs between flights.
Please understand how to play a TIE-BREAK before coming to the
tournament.
Prizes will be awarded for winner and runner-up. Results in singles
and doubles will be added together to determine the place, with the
singles weighted more heavily.
9. Matches are played on the 5 indoor courts and the 3 outdoor
courts at the tournament's discretion. Some warm-up courts may be
available immediately prior to 7:45 and 12:45, but will not be
available during the event.
10. Even if it rains, the schedule will remain the same, since we
have indoor courts.
11. Please provide email address and phone numbers in your
entry information, in case we have to contact you.
12. Ringers on all cell phones must be turned off when in the
tennis court area.
13. If a player must withdraw from the tournament before the entry
deadline, it can be done online at the entry website. If a player
must withdraw from the tournament after the entry deadline, contact
the Tournament Director at 510-226-8500 ext.516 AND at
lparker@clubsports.com.
14. Regulation Penn Green Dot Control balls are used.
15. Spectators may not sit on the courts during
matches.
16. Many families fill out the online evaluation form after
completing the event. Please go to
http://www.ustanorcal.com/tournaments/Tournament_eval.asp
Thank you.
