PURPOSE OF SECTIONAL TRAINING CENTERS
Our goal is to leverage our network of USTA National Faculty coaches, our Section high performance coaches and our players to facilitate a Sectional Training Center (STC) program. This is an opportunity for the USTA Middle States Section to customize a training center similar to the USTA Regional Training Center programs to fit the specific needs of our local players. The STC initiative will combine players from the New Jersey District (NJD), Delaware District (DD), Eastern Penn District (EPD), Central Penn District(EPD)and the Philadelphia Area Tennis District (PATD) into one Sectional Training Center (STC) program. During the STC’s the best young players born between years 2003-2006 will be invited to train and compete.

SELECTION PROCESS
Selections will be based on birth year, ranking and input received from our
Section Coaches Commission. At young ages, we realize that these criteria are
dependent upon fluctuating stages of maturity, growth and physiological
development. Space is limited, and if players are not selected for the STC, we
encourage them to continue to work and develop their game for the long haul.
Players who show marked improvement will increase their probability of being
accepted in the future.
