Dear Parents and Players - B18 Draw Changes: We have had some movement in the B18 singles draw. Please check your draw for your start time and opponent. The updated draw is online. Sports Center Lunches: Food & Beverage will be bringing the Sports Center a limited amount of boxed lunches available for players and parents. The lunches will include a sandwich, a side, and dessert for $8. This is a great option if you cannot leave the facility and do not want to dine at the main club restaurant. I wanted to make you aware of this option. Hitting Pro: Oak Tree Pro, Jeff Sasser, is available to hit with players today or throughout out the weekend. If you would like to schedule a session, contact him directly at 580-704-7870. Guard Gate Instructions: Just let security know that you are here for the Sweet 16 and they will let you through. The tennis courts will be on your right just past security. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow morning!

Dear Parents and Players -
We look forward to hosting you for the BG18 Sweet 16. It is an honor to host this division at such a high level tournament.
Monday, November 6th
Singles and doubles draws will be posted on Monday.
In addition, doubles teams must be confirmed by Monday at noon. Please go to the tournament homepage and check the "competitors" list. Your doubles entry (and partner) will be listed there if it is confirmed. If it is not, please have both players email me before noon on Monday to confirm your team.
Tournament Scheduling
The B18 doubles draw will begin at approximately 10:30 on Friday.
The G18 doubles draw will begin at approximately 11:30 am on Friday.
Singles will follow with the first B18 singles match at approximately 1:30 pm and the first G18 singles match at approximately 3:30 pm. We will play only one round of singles on Friday.
At this point, I plan to play both doubles finals at 8 am on Saturday.
The singles finals and 3/4th playoffs are tentatively set "not before" 9:30 and 11:00 am, respectively, on Sunday. The singles finals and 3/4th playoffs will be "as follows" scheduling on Sunday and will be scheduled for specific courts for quality viewing. The last match of the tournament is tentatively set to play at 1:00 pm on Sunday.
Facility and Edmond Information
The tournament homepage has quite a bit of information on Oak Tree and Edmond. There are suggestions listed for restaurants and a link to an online discounted hotel rate. The address for Oak Tree Country Club is 700 Country Club Dr, Edmond, OK 73025. The pro shop phone number is 405-341-3978. All matches will be played at Oak Tree. If you wish to schedule a court on Thursday, please call the club to reserve. There will be limited availability. We are offering tournament participants the discounted rate of $10/hour court fee for Thursday. Warm-up courts during the tournament are at no charge. There is a list of other facilities to call for practice courts on the homepage as well. There are 6 outdoor courts at Oak Tree that can be used for practice.
Stringing Services
We will offer stringing services throughout the tournament. If you need a racquet strung, please turn into the pro shop as soon as possible so we can arrange to have it strung in a timely manner.
Court Viewing Oak Tree has a wonderful indoor tennis building. However, it was not constructed with the best spectator viewing in mind. All of the courts are visible, but not necessarily comfortably. We apologize in advance for this and I will do my best to try to keep the same players from having the lesser desirable courts over and over again. However, we have to keep the tournament running on time as well. As we get into Sunday the Finals and 3/4 Playoffs will have priority for our 2 best viewing courts and will be scheduled as follows to make sure their fan club has comfortable seating. We appreciate your patience with us on this matter.
Questions? Please don't hesitate to contact me at lisa.m.minihan@gmail.com if you have any questions. Have a good weekend

TOURNAMENT SPECIFIC INFORMATION
If you have any questions about the tournament, the quickest way to get a reply is to email Lisa at lisa.m.minihan@gmail.com. I will get back to you as soon as I possibly can. Most of the timeline with the the match scheduling will be determined by the Missouri Vally mandatory schedule. I will have the draws posted as quickly as I am allowed to do. Make sure you have both players email with me their partner's name by Monday at noon before the tournament starts
|
VIEWING
The viewing on several of the 6 indoor courts is somewhat limited. Parents will not be allowed to be on the court. The tournament director will do everything possible to rotate the least amount of viewing to different players throughout the weekend. Towards the end of the event, main draw matches will have priority for the courts with better viewing. We apologize in advance for this and appreciate your patience.

Notes
LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED INTO THIS
TOURNAMENT.
DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO REGISTER. Online
registration is required and needs to be COMPLETED before the entry
deadline. In the case of a technical problem, contact the USTA MV
Junior Competition Program Manager at chambers@movalley.usta.com or
913.322.4832 BEFORE THE ENTRY DEADLINE. If calling, be sure to
leave a voicemail. The time stamp on the email or the voicemail
needs to be BEFORE the entry deadline.
Per the USTA MV Junior Regulations, players are expected to play
the tournament to completion unless for reasons of illness, injury
or personal circumstance. USTA MV Junior Regulations 27 and
37 will be strictly enforced at this tournament and failure to
complete all mandatory matches will result in the appropriate
penalties. Failure to complete a match to get home earlier or not
to miss school is not considered a valid personal circumstance.
Instead, players should not register for this tournament unless
able to play the entire event.
If you are not sure if you have registered correctly, you may
check your registration two different ways:
1. Check the confirmation email sent to you by TennisLink. The
email will indicate which events you are registered for. There will
be an "s" next to the age division to indicate registration for
singles, and a "d" next to the age division to indicate
registration for doubles. Please note, that although you may have
registered for doubles, you must still make sure you have followed
the process below to be fully registered
2. Check the "Applicants" tab on the tournament homepage. Next to
your name you will see the event(s) and division(s) for which you
have successfully registered. If you successfully registered with a
partner your partner's name will also appear on your
registration.
Entering Multiple Age Divisions - When entries close, a
player may be entered in up to two age divisions. The USTA Missouri
Valley selects players for the singles main draws in the following
order: 18, 16, 14, 12. Unless otherwise notified at
chambers@movalley.usta.com, a player entered in two divisions will
be placed in the older age division should the player qualify for
both divisions. If a player is entered in two age divisions and is
selected into the older division, that player shall not be eligible
for selection into the younger division and will be removed from
the alternates list. If a player is not selected for the older
division, that player is eligible for selection in the younger
division and is eligible to be an alternate in the younger division
but not the older division. If the player does not qualify for
either division, the player will be placed on the alternates list
of the younger age division and removed from the alternates list of
the older age division as players can only be on the alternates
list for one division.
Know the Rules, Respect The Tournament
The section is grateful for the hospitality extended by the member
clubs and organizations hosting sanctioned tournaments. As a
player, please show your consideration and appreciation while a
guest during the tournament. Remember, the USTA Missouri Valley is
committed to the principles of Positive Coaching Alliance. Please
respect the rules, officials, other players, and tournament staff
at all times and make this tournament a positive experience for
everyone involved.
Please also make sure you know the rules and guidelines for this
tournament by fully reviewing the information below:
Eligibility
This tournament is closed to amateurs and
members and residents of the USTA Missouri Valley section.
Point Level
Section: Level 1, National: Level 4
Draw Size
The singles draw is limited to 16 players. The
doubles draw is limited to 8 teams.
Draw Type
This tournament will use a full feed-in
through the quarterfinals with playoffs for 9-12 and 13-16
Selection Process: -Players are selected into the tournament
in the following order:
1. Qualification through previous Section results: The
quarterfinalists from Super #4 will gain entry. Players must
register and be eligible for the same age division as the
qualifying tournament to be accepted by this method. Your results
do not automatically qualify you for the tournament. QUALIFERS MUST
STILL REGISTER BEFORE THE ENTRY DEADLINE TO BE SELECTED FOR THE
TOURNAMENT.
2. Should not all qualifiers enter the tournament or be
eligible for the tournament, selection will be pursuant to item 3
below
3. The remaining players will be selected from those
who enter the tournament in order of their standing on the most
recent USTA MISSOURI VALLEY STANDINGS LIST PUBLISHED prior to the
draws being made.
Seeding
The USTA MV has returned to the use of the MV
Standing List for seeding purposes. Seeding for this tournament
will based on the most recent USTA Missouri Valley Standing list
used to accept players into the draw.
Scoring Format:
Singles: Best of three tie break sets with a ten point tiebreak
in lieu of the third
Doubles: 8 Game Pro-set, with 7 point tiebreak if score
reaches 8-all.
Schedule
This event is a Friday-Sunday tournament. You
can expect matches to begin as early as 8AM on Friday.
Doubles - Players must play the same age division in singles
and doubles, but you do not have to be in the singles draw to play
doubles. Players in the singles draw are required to team with
another player in the singles draw unless not all players in the
singles draw choose to play doubles. In this case, the player in
the singles draw may team with any player on the alternates
list. Any doubles entries that are not done online, need to be
emailed to the tournament director by the Monday before the start
of the tournament.
There are two ways in which a team will be placed in the
doubles draw.
1. If both members of the team sign up with each other online, and
both have gained entry into singles they will be placed on the draw
at the time of singles selection. BOTH partners must have indicated
each other as partners to be considered. If both signed up together
online, but one of the players did not make the singles draw, it
will be necessary for the player who DID make the singles draw to
email the tournament director with a new partner
2. After on-line singles registration closes, a team may be placed
in the draw by contacting the tournament director (information
above) with your partner's information by 12:00 PM on the Monday
before the start of the tournament. Both partners need to contact
the tournament director to verify the team. If both players do not
confirm with the tournament director, the team will not be accepted
into the draw. Again, if you registered for doubles correctly in
step 1, but one player did not make the singles draw, please
confirm with the tournament director that you would still like to
be considered for doubles and please email them your new
partner
If you do not have a partner, email the tournament
director by the above deadline and let them know you would like to
be placed into the blind draw. If you are placed in the blind draw,
it is not guaranteed that there will be a partner for you. Teams in
the blind draw are selected at random and there is not always an
even number of players to be paired. Thanks for your
understanding.
Please make every effort to secure a partner and
register online correctly prior to the entry deadline. This
requires your partners USTA number upon registration.
Withdraws and Refunds -Withdrawals done before entries close
need to be done through the online registration process. Click on
the "Withdraw" link in the Edit Registration box to complete. Your
credit card will not be charged if you withdraw before the entry
deadline. Click on the "Locate Confirmation Number" link if you
have misplaced the confirmation number.
After the Entry Deadline: Withdrawals done after entries
close need to be emailed to the tournament director at the address
above. Refunds are not given for withdraws that happen in the 6
days before the start of the event. Written verification must be
provided by a medical professional by the last scheduled day of the
tournament for a withdrawal due to illness or injury. A written
notice of the situation must be provided by the last scheduled day
of the tournament for a withdrawal due to personal
circumstance/emergency. The tournament committee will determine
whether the situation is a personal circumstance/emergency. Failure
to provide documentation will result in Suspension Points.
On-Site Alternates - Players who applied for entry into the
tournament but were not accepted into the draw may choose to be an
on-site alternate. On-site alternates will be listed in the order
in which their names appear on the USTA MV Standing List that was
used for selection. On-Site alternates MUST be on site for the
first round of play in the age division for which they are an
on-site alternate. Please contact the tournament director for
further instructions.
Sportsmanship: The USTA Missouri Valley recognizes good
sportsmanship at our events. At the conclusion of each event the
tournament director selects one boy and one girl in each age
division as a good sportsman. These players will be recognized on
the tournament homepage and will also receive a $25 gift card to
