What We Are Looking For...
Athletic
skill and development, NOT just tennis technique. Beginner players are encouraged to submit
video footage so that the coaches may evaluate their movement and athletic
potential. Invite friends to
participate!
|
Selection Criteria
Players must be 7-10 years old. The primary birth years for the camps are
2006 and 2007. Players ages 7-9 who
participate in one of these camps may also be eligible based on the camp
coaches’ recommendation to attend the USTA Southern Section camps.
Early Development Camps are for orange ball players only. If you are playing at a different level, you
will not be considered for selection into the EDCs.
Player
selection is based on the following:
·
Athletic Ability (agility, balance, strength,
coordination, etc.)
·
SC standings
·
Evaluation of Player Film
·
Player recommendation (from coach or tennis
professional)
·
Sportsmanship
Players in the top 20 of the USTA SC standings, as of May 20,
2015, will automatically be accepted into the camp. Players outside of this
parameter will need to provide a video submission. Players may also provide a recommendation via
email from their teaching professional or Junior Team Tennis coach for
selection. Please indicate in your video
submission or via email if you play another sport.
|
Player Recommendations
Please send player recommendations via email to Alexandria Howard at howard@sctennis.com by the camp entry deadline, Thursday, May 28, 2015. Player recommendations should be send by a teaching professional or Junior Team Tennis coach.
|
Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
