2017 Selection Process
Order of selection for singles main draw:
i. Players on Direct Acceptance List for the 18s division only.
• May 1 List for USTA National Clay Court Championships. Up to 32 players shall be accepted in the order in which their names appear on the
ii. Players who qualified from USTA National Level 2 Tournaments. Players not previously selected who
are the top two singles finishers in each of the four immediately preceding USTA National Level 2
Tournaments shall be accepted, if otherwise eligible.
iii. Players within Sectional Associations’ quotas. Players not previously selected who are on the
Sectional Endorsement Lists and within the quota shall be accepted in order as determined by their
Sectional Endorsers. A Sectional Association’s quota is never reduced because of players selected into
the draw by any other method.
iv. Endorsed players on National Standings List. Players not previously selected shall be selected from
Sectionally endorsed players on in the order in which their names appear on the list. Check the
selection process on TennisLink for the number of players to be selected from the National Standing
List used to select players into the draw.
v. Wild cards. As soon as practicable after the deadline for accepting wild card applications, the Wild
Card Committee shall award no more than 8 wild cards in a draw of 224, no more than 6 wild cards in
a draw of 192, and no more than 4 wild cards in a draw of 128.
vii. Additional players on National Standings List. If the Wild Card Committee awards fewer than the
maximum number of wild cards, the Tournament Committee shall fill the remaining vacancies in the
draw with Sectionally-endorsed players remaining on the National Standings List used to accept
players into the draw

Welcome to the 2017 Girls 18 National Clay Court Championships!
The website is updated for this years USTA Girls 18 Clay Court Championships! The link to the website is at the top of the page at www.g18claycourts.com.
Due to the numerous changes in partners, ALL PLAYERS MUST CHECK-IN ON SATURDAY, JULY 15 at the DOUBLES REGISTRATION TABLE at the Racquet Club of Memphis to register for the doubles draw. Doubles players that do not have a partner WILL NOT be paired with another player looking for a partner by the tournament committee. Check-In time is from 3:00 - 6:00 PM followed by a Mandatory Meeting from 6:00 - 6:30 PM.
**Please note, there will be 2 rounds of doubles played on Sunday, July 15.
Draw Format for 2017
The Singles Main Draw will begin Sunday, July 16 and continue through Sunday July 23 (224 players 256 draw). The Doubles Draw will begin Sunday July 16 (112 teams in a 128 draw), and the Singles Feed-in Championships will begin Tuesday July 18.
Singles seeds are based upon ATP, ITF, USTA and UTR rankings/ratings as indicted per the following.
Step 1: Check-In with Maggie Russell on Saturday, July 15 from 3:00-6:00 PM.
Step 2: Entry fee of $140.76 must be paid before you can be listed as an On-Site alternate. If you do not play doubles or make it to singles the entry fee will be returned to you.
Step 3: Check your Standing around 10:00 PM on Saturday, July 16. After all players have checked in, we order all the
On-Site Alternates according to their standings on the Girls’ 18 Clays National
Alternate List. We will post this list on the web site. Please check the
USTA website (Tournament ID #70000117) on Saturday night to determine your
standing on the On-Site Alternate List.
Step 4: Sign in at the tournament desk each morning. Must check in at 8:00 AM the first two days. All alternates must sign in on the alternate list on board on site.
Step 5: Watch and Wait. If a player no-shows for a match or a player withdraws
before setting foot on the court for her first match, we then call the highest
ordered On-Site Alternate who has signed in on time to the Racquet Club
Tournament Desk and that player will be placed in the draw.

contact the Tournament Director by phone. Anyone not heard from by 6:00 PM on
day of check-in will be replaced in the draw by an Alternate.
Order of Play

Doubletree (East Memphis) and the Marriott (Court Yard East and Residence Inn East) are
the official hotels of the USTA Girls' 18 National Clay Court
Championships. Doubletree is 50 yards from The Racquet Club, has
dining facilities and airport transportation, and has given this tournament a
discounted rate of $119 per night for the girl participants. The Marriott
is located 3 miles from the Club. Rooms have
been blocked off for the tournament. Please
make your reservations prior to Friday, June 30th (this is the deadline to hold ALL the rooms for the
Player Housing Info.
Request for housing
must be made by calling the Tournament Office at 901-765-4458 no later than
Friday, June 30. Cost for housing is $100.00. Please send a
separate check to the Tournament Site made payable to The Racquet Club of
Memphis. No housing is provided for any
parent or coach. We will try to honor requests where contestants wish to
be housed together. If for any reason you have requested housing and your plans
change before the Tournament, you must contact the Tournament Office
immediately so that your housing family may be notified.
Mandatory Player Meeting
There will be a mandatory meeting
for all players at 6:00 PM Saturday, July 15 held
on Court 4 outdoors at The Racquet Club of Memphis. This meeting will last
30 minutes to an hour. All important information regarding sites, practice
courts, first match times, transportation, club access, etc, will be discussed
at this meeting.The group photo for 2017 will also be taken at this time. Make
sure that you are at this mandatory meeting.
There will be NO PRACTICE COURTS
open 6:00 - 7:00 pm on Saturday, July 15. All first match times will be
available at the player meeting. You will be able to book your practice court for the next day during check-in. No player times
or practice courts for Sunday will be available until after the Mandatory
Player and College Bio Books
The Player and College Bio Books will be available in
color via digital format, and sold for $35.
If you would like a hard copy, the fee is $45 and includes a digital version as well. The deadline to submit form is Friday, JULY 7.

Tournament transportation provided by Lexus. Transportation
from the airport is available upon request by calling the Tournament Office at
901-765-4458 at least TWO DAYS PRIOR to arrival. Transportation will also be
provided between sites for TOURNAMENT MATCHES ONLY. If you need transportation, you must check at The Tournament Desk
to let them know you need transportation. Otherwise, drivers will not
go to the sites. Most hotels will have a shuttle that can get you to and from
The Racquet Club should you need it.

click on the "Register Now" text in red – which is what you had to do
when you registered for the event. When you arrive at the next page,
click on "WITHDRAW" on the left hand side of the screen. YOU
WILL NEED YOUR CONFIRMATION FROM YOUR ORIGINAL REGISTRATION TO WITHDRAW ONLINE.
Because your credit card has not been charged prior to the entry deadline, no
refund needs to be made. If you cannot locate your confirmation number, contact
YOU ARE WITHDRAWING AFTER JUNE 22:

firstname.lastname@example.org. WE MUST HAVE A WRITTEN RECORD OF
THE WITHDRAWAL VIA EMAIL. Please make sure to email from the same email
account listed in your registration. If you withdraw by JUNE 22, you may be eligible for a full refund of $140.25 for entry fee. However, if a written statement
that the withdrawal is for injury, illness, or personal emergency is NOT
received by June 22, 2017, the player receives suspension points for
withdrawing without a legitimate reason. IF
YOU ARE WITHDRAWING AFTER JUNE 22 no refund is given.
Entry Requirements and Registration
USTA National Championship
sectional quotas will apply.USTA membership is required. Entry must be made via
the USTA Registration System. The TennisLink ID # is 700000117. Deadline
for entry is Thursday, June 22, 20167, by 11:59 AM Eastern Time. Cost is $140.25 for one event. Cost is $140.76 for 2 events.
Additional fees may apply if registered for 3 or more events through the USTA
website. **Please confirm that your entry went through
and was accepted. Just because you register does not mean you will be accepted
to play. Singles Draw of 256, Doubles is a 96 draw size. USTA Registration for Singles entries closes
on June 22. Doubles entries close at 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 15 at
Check-in. All Doubles entrants will need to confirm their entry on Saturday, July 15. There will be a Feed-In Championship Tournament in the
Singles through the Quarterfinals. There will Documented seeding and ranking
information is imperative if you wish to be considered for seeding.
PRACTICE COURTS: Thursday, July 13
courts will be available at the Racquet Club of Memphis on Thursday, July 13 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. NO practice courts will be available during the
Mandatory Players Meeting. You must call The Shop at The
Racquet Club at 901-765-4444 to reserve a court. You can book ONLY one court in
advance for one hour. There is no charge for the practice courts.
Players only on-site. No coaches are allowed to hit on-site. PRACTICE COURTS ON TOURNAMENT
DATES: JULY 16-23
Practice courts beginning Saturday will be available from 6:45-7:15 OR
7:15-7:45 for players only. Players may sign up at check in Saturday, July 15, for Sunday courts. Beginning Sunday, players may sign up in person at
the main site tournament desk for the following day's courts. For main draw
players coming in early looking for practice later, there are 3 courts
"off-site" at Colonial Country Club that you can book from 9:00 AM to
4:00 PM. DO
NOT CALL COLONIAL TO BOOK COURTS. They will not take your
bookings. Practice courts beginning Saturday, July 15, may be reserved at
The Tournament Desk. PLAYERS ONLY may sign up each day for a practice
court for the following day. Coaches, parents, or player representatives
are NOT allowed to sign up for players' practice courts. If two players
would like to be on the same court, BOTH PLAYERS MUST BE PRESENT. Courts are
assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis only.
As of June 22, 2017 there will be no refunds for withdrawals from the Main Draw..
Medical Release Form
Players are selected from a variety of National Lists and generally require Section endorsement.
Entry to this tournament is restricted. To see how entrants will be selected, follow the “Selection Process” link to the left. It is the player’s responsibility to check the selection list(s) after registering online to be sure that a check mark appears beside the player’s name on the list, in order to insure proper registration. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, June 22, 2017 11:59:00 AM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
