Important Tournament Information
The Orinda Tennis Academy Challenger "Inspiring the Spirit in NorCal"
Location of Play: Timothy Korth Tennis Complex, Saint Mary's College of California, 1928 Saint Mary's Rd., Moraga CA, 94556 Player Eligibility Please check your son or daughter's Junior Profile at ustanorcal.com and make sure they are qualified for this level of tournament. Some times players do qualify for a tournament but their junior profile doesn't indicate it. An example would be an 11 year old Green Ball player who has enough points to play the Challenger level but hasn't updated their level of points on their profile causing it say, Green Ball still. Parents, you have the capability to do this on your end so we highly suggest doing it before you register. Thank you. Registering for Doubles: If you wish to play doubles with a partner please indicate who your partner is and have them do the same. If you would like to play doubles but don't have a partner please still register for doubles without an indicated partner. One will be assigned to you if other players who wish to play doubles don't have a partner as well. Players who do not register for doubles will only play singles. Match Times: At the moment all matches will be played over a maximum of a 2 day period. Entries are limited and selections are made by the tournament director in order to remain within these guidelines. Weather Updates: Currently, weather forecasts call for clear skies and mild temperatures. This tournament is on, so we encourage you to invite others to play! If the weather changes or you are unsure if the times for matches will be delayed, that information will be posted here. Please do not contact the tournament director unless it is an emergency in regards to inclement weather. Withdrawing from the tournament: If you are withdrawing before the tournament has closed it's registration you will receive a full refund. If you are withdrawing after registration has closed and before the entries have been processed you may or may not receive a refund. E-mail the tournament director immediately if this is the case. No refunds will be awarded once entries into the tournament have been processed. In all cases, please e-mail the tournament director at tenniscoachdrew@gmail.com as to why you are withdrawing. Free Parking: When entering the college you will see a guard gate shack on your left and there is no need to stop unless you'd like to ask directions to the tennis courts. Make a right at the "T" in the road and then parking for the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex is just past the Recreation Center on the right hand side. Player Check-In & Orientation: Players need to check in 15 minutes prior to their 1st match for the tournament and should double check with the tournament desk staff on ensuing matches. Practice Courts: Practice courts may be available at the tournament site but are not guaranteed. We recommend going to Miramonte High School in Orinda or Campolindo High School in Moraga to find a warm-up court. Player Amenities: Snacks for players may be provided and there is a vending machine on site along with a drinking fountain. If you wish to purchase something more substantial we recommend you go to the Moraga Safeway where you'll also find Bianca's deli. Parent Coaching: There is no parent coaching allowed during the course of any match. Players can be penalized for parent coaching so please take the time in between rounds to help your player with issues they may be experiencing such as line calls, scoring, strategy, etc. Ball Type: Penn Championship Extra Duty Dress Code: Appropriate tennis attire is to be worn at all times including non-marking tennis shoes. Draw Format: The format of the tournament will be updated closer to the close of the registration. Unique tournament issues: We recommend you please keep pets at home but if you do bring an animal please take care of it appropriately. Other helpful information: Please review the USTA Jr. Pathway for future reference.
