Participation: If a player has won three L6 tournaments in an age division, or if the player has a Top 90 MAS standing in an age division, they must play up a division (or two) in L6 events. POINTS: L6 tournaments award points toward VA Novice & VA Jr Open Rankings. Note: L6 tournaments do not count toward MAS Jr Open Standings.

L6 QuickStart: In Novice (L6) tournaments the 10 & under and 8 & under divisions employ the QuickStart format. www.quickstarttennis.com U10: Court = 60', Ball = Orange, Scoring Format: 2 out of 3, 4-game sets using no-ad scoring; 3rd set is a 7-point tiebreak | U8: Court = 36', Ball = Red, Scoring = 2 out of 3, 7-point Games Futures / Novice / L6 Tournaments: L6 tournaments are intended to be a fun, friendly and encouraging tournament experiences for first-time and developing juniors. L6 tournaments are ideal for first-time tournament players because they are non-elimination, meaning win or lose, everyone plays multiple matches. More play = more FUN and it supports the development of the new players. Developing juniors are also encouraged to participate in L6 tournaments to learn how to win consecutive matches and how to win tournaments.
