Due to the rain coming around noon today. All matches report 30 minutes earlier than posted match time. For example: 9:00 report at 8:30, 9:30 report at 9:00 etc. Format will change: Consolation will play no ad, Main draw will play a match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set. .

DRAW INFORMATION
Draws will be posted by noon on Friday. A word of caution: BE SURE TO READ THE SITE AND THE TIME. There can be multiple sites on the same part of the draw. Players should check in 30 minutes early for their match. This will allow travel if you are at the wrong site.

TRAFFIC WARNING
There are 16 miles of heavy road construction between Exit 231 and 216
on I-75 south of Atlanta. Please drive safely and allow extra time if
you are driving thru or from Atlanta. This is also an area that accidents FREQUENTLY cause major delays. CHECK TRAFFIC REPORTS ONLINE AND HAVE AN ALTERNATE ROUTE PLANNED.

FIRST SINGLES MATCH TIMES POSTED 11AM
First singles matches times are posted above under Tournament Reports. Doubles draws/times for Sunday will be posted Saturday by 9 pm. Deadline to pair up with a partner is3 pm Saturday. Registration online for doubles closes on Friday night at 11:59pm. If we don't have confirmation from both players at 3 pm Saturday, your team will not be selected for doubles.

USTA SOUTHERN SEEDING CRITERIA
In an effort to provide greater transparency and understanding of how
USTA Southern seeds will be determined for USTA Southern L 1, 1A and 2
events, FAC (Friend at Court) method II.A.4.b., which provides for a
computerized system of rankings or standings. The Junior Competition
Committee approved the chart that the Tournament Seeding Committees,
with assistance from the USTA Southern staff, shall utilize to determine
seedings. Lower level USTA Southern L 3, 4 & 5 events and State
events below USTA Southern L 1-2 events, may choose between FAC seeding
methods II.A.4.a., which provides for an All Factors Method, or
II.A.4.b., which provides for a computerized system of rankings or
standings and shall be published. Criteria to be considered: Players
who have a standing in the next younger age division, Players with a
current top 50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP
or WTA rankings. When calculating 12U seeds, the 10U standings are not
considered. Revised: June 5, 2015
Seedings shall be prepared by the Southern Office at the time they prepare the selection list.
DOUBLES SEEDING CRITERIA •
Teams shall be seeded in the order of their combined standings (e.g.,
Player A holds the #1 standing and Player B holds the #10 standing. The
Team of A & B would have combined standing of 11.) Teams that have
the same combined standing shall be seeded in the order of the total
number of Ranking points held by each team • Players with current top
50 USTA National standing, top 100 ITF ranking, top 1000 ATP or WTA
rankings may be considered for seeding

LATE ENTRY AND FEE
A late entrant will not be accepted if he/she affects the seeding. PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT A RESPONSE TO A LATE ENTRY REQUEST BEFORE WEDNESDAY 6/8/16 after the seeds are posted. SHOULD A LATE ENTRY BE OFFERED A SPOT, A $25 LATE FEE WILL BE CHARGED IN ADDITION TO THE ENTRY FEE. "Late Entry Fee: Effective immediately players signing up for a Southern tournament as a late entry,
will be charged an additional $25.00. This policy will cover Level 1, 1A, and 2
events”.

WITHDRAWAL PROCEDURES
Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website under "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right
side of your screen click "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you
do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just
below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself.
You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before
registration closes.
Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament.
You
must email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email
is maconten@bellsouth.net. If the player is not playing because of an
injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the
injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last
scheduled day of the tournament. There are No
refunds for withdrawals after Sunday, June 5 at 11:59pm. Defaulting during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at the John Drew Smith Tennis Center. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have
properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it
will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE
PHONE!
REFUNDS AFTER REGISTRATION CLOSES
If you withdraw before registration closes, your credit card will not be charged.
If you withdraw after registration closes, there is no refund. A
player shall not withdraw from a tournament after entries close except
for illness, injury, or personal circumstance. A withdrawing player shall
immediately notify the Tournament by email of the withdrawal.
If
the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player
shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a
medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the
tournament. If the player is not playing because of a personal circumstance, the player shall provide a written explanation of the
situation to the Referee no later than the last scheduled day of the
tournament. The Referee shall determine whether the situation is a
personal emergency. FYI - a personal emergency does not include "my
parents can't get off work" or "I have a vacation planned."
You will
receive suspension points if you do not have a documented medical excuse
or a written explanation of a personal emergency. Our best advice
to you, is make sure you assess your means of travel and schedules
before registration closes. Thank you for your cooperation.

Smart watches, such as the Apple watch, are NOT allowed on court. PHONES MAY BE LEFT IN VIBRATE MODE IN TENNIS BAG FOR USE DURING THE 3 MINUTE BREAK BEFORE A 3RD SET TIEBREAK.

FORMAT
Main Draw - best of 3 tiebreak sets Consolation - best of 2 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set Doubles: 8 game pro set with 7 point tiebreak at 8 all. Format for Finals AND 3/4 PLAYOFF will be best of 2 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak in lieu of the 3rd set. There will be 3/4 playoff for singles and doubles.

USTA Southern Wild Card Procedure
Up to four
(4) Wild Cards will be approved for the boys and girls 12 – 18 divisions. A player may apply for a Wild Card for
whatever reason; injury, illness, or personal circumstance. Please remember, there are only up to four
Wild Cards given per division, and no guarantees all four will be used.
The Wild
Card applications will have to be submitted before 9:00 AM EST, the morning
after the registration deadline. In 2016, that will be Monday, June 6th. The applications will be reviewed by a
committee consisting of the USTA Southern Player Development Director, USTA
Southern Junior Competition Director, the tournament director, and two Junior
Competition Committee members (selected by the Chairman).
