Limited draw. This event will start at 11am and end approx. 1:30pm.
Event will be a compass or round robin format on 60' courts using
the Orange Stage Ball. Scoring format based on number of entrants
(min. 4, max. 8). Players will receive recognition points for
Earned Advancement (no Points Per Round).
Facility is willing to run two events, if entrants warrant.

SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN DOES NOT ALLOW JUNIOR TOURNAMENT ENTRIES
AFTER THE TENNISLINK DEADLINE. All competitors (phone in, mail in
and tennislink) MUST show up on TennisLink at the time of deadline.
If you are aware of a Southeast Michigan Tournament adding players
after the TennisLink deadline, please notify the District Office
immediately (email: semta@aol.com or call 1-734-421-1025).
Exceptions to this rule are Novice Tournaments or any division with
three (3) or less entrants after deadline.
Earned Advancement for the 10 & Under Player: _The USTA/Midwest
Section has introduced an Earned Advancement for tournament players
under the age of 10.
This is being done to ensure that players are using the appropriate
ball, racquet, and court size for their level of play. Within this
system, players will have the opportunity to experience appropriate
levels of competition at each stage of the USTA/Midwest Junior
Tennis Pathway. The rules and regulations put in place will allow
players to progress through the different stages at a pace most
suitable to the player based on his or her competency, age,
participation in competitive play, and results in
competition.
Stages of Earned Advancement
Red Ball Tennis to Orange Ball Tennis
Orange Ball Tennis to Green Ball Tennis
Green Ball Tennis to Yellow Ball Tennis
Grandfathered Players Exempt from Earned Advancement:
Players with 20 or more USTA/Midwest Section ranking points on the
final 2013 USTA/Midwest Section Final Ranking list are not subject
to this Earned Advancement policy.

ORANGE BALL to GREEN BALL ADVANCEMENT - 60' court to 78'
(regulation) court
Age Eligibility: Any Player until the first day of the month of
their 11th birthday.
Tournament Formats:_ _Non-Elimination Formats (Round Robin or
Compass Draw)

Advancement Criteria: _In order to advance to Green Ball Tennis,
players must complete one of the following:
1. A player may advance on the first day of the month of the
player's 10th birthday.
2. A player wins at least one (1) Designated Advancement Orange
Ball Tournament.
3. A player participates in at least four (4) Designated
Advancement Orange Ball
Tournaments
Tournaments Available:_ _Southeast Michigan will offer a minimum of
one (1) Earned
Advancement Orange Ball Tournament per month
Points Per Round:_ _Southeast Michigan District Level 6 Points Per
Round and each
player will receive one (1) participation point per tournament
completed on the
Midwest Earned Advancement List.
GREEN BALL to YELLOW BALL ADVANCEMENT - 78' (regulation)
court
Age Eligibility:_ _Any Player until the first day of the month of
their 11th birthday (who
has advanced from Orange Ball Tennis).
Tournament Formats:_ _FMLC or Non-Elimination Formats are
acceptable.
Scoring Formats:_ _FMLC (Best of 3 sets with 10 point match
tiebreak in lieu of a
3rd set) or Non-Elimination Formats Allowed
Advancement Criteria:_ _To Advance to Yellow Ball Tennis (12-18 and
Under
Divisions), players must complete one of the following:
1. A player who has already advanced to Green Ball from Orange Ball
may
advance to Yellow Ball Tennis on the first day of the month of the
player's 10th
birthday.
2. A player wins at least two (2) Green Ball Tournaments.
3. A player participates in at least four (4) Green Ball
Tournaments.
4. A player reaches the quarterfinals of the USTA/Midwest Section
Outdoor Closed
Championship or the semifinals of any other USTA/Midwest Section
Level 1 Green
Ball Tournament.
Tournaments Available:_ _Southeast Michigan will offer a minimum of
one (1) Earned
Advancement Orange Ball Tournament per month
Points Per Round:_ _Southeast Michigan District Level 1-4 points
per round AND
USTA/Midwest Section Level 1-5 points per round as per the most
current
USTA/Midwest Section Points Per Round Tables.

Player Reminders:
1) When either tournament entry closes, a player may not be entered
in two or
more sanctioned tournaments if any part of the tournaments overlap,
unless all
Tournament Committees/Directors understand the situation and agree
in writing.
Written approval from both Tournament Committees/Directors must be
received in
the District Office prior to the deadline of either tournament.
This information can
be sent via fax, mail or email; however, it is the parent/legal
guardian's
responsibility that the District Office receives such written
notice to ensure
suspension points are not issued.
2) All players are expected to play and complete all scheduled
matches during a
tournament. A player shall not withdraw from an event (whether
during the course
of a match or before the start of a match in any round). All
players withdrawing
from a tournament after the tournament entry deadline FOR ANY
REASON will be
subject to suspension points. Withdrawing players will receive 2
suspension points
- defaulting players will receive 5 suspension points.
FAILURE TO ADHERE TO THESE RULES MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION
POINTS.
