Weather Update:
The weather prediction for 9/12 has clearly worsened. A decision will be made tomorrow at 7am whether to delay, modify or cancel the tournament. I'll keep you all posted... Please remember that you can call the Sports Weather Line after 7am for decisions: 240-314-5055. Also note that these are isolated storms so we can only make decisions with what the forecast gives us.... If we cancel then you will all receive a full refund! Hopefully, the predictions change, which will allow me to permit the tournament to continue.

This tournament has been cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. All players will receive a refund in due course.

Notes
Welcome to the City of Rockville Adult Tennis Tournament.
1. City of Rockville Tournament Rules:
a. The tournament will be played on Saturday and Sunday (September
12-13).
b. The format forall divisions is single-elimination. All matches
will be 2 sets with a match tie-break to 10 for the third set, if a
set is tied at 6 games, then players will play a seven point
tiebreaker.
d. Games are self-regulated; however, queries/questions should be
directed to the Tournament Director or Site Supervisor. The server
should announce the score between each point.
e. It is the player's responsibility to inform the Tournament
Director by cell phone/email if they are unable to play a
match.
f. The bracket will be updated after each days play and posted to
the tournament page:
2. Location of Tournament:
Richard Montgomery High School, 250 Richard Montgomery Drive,
Rockville. Please workout the location in advance, and the time it
will take to arrive. Note that some divisions will play at
different locations so check the bracket carefully.
3. Start time: You are expected to arrive 20 minutes before your
match to check in. If you are delayed by more than 15 minutes then
the game might be forfeited. This decision will be made by the
Tournament Director.
4. Weather Policy:
In the event of poor weather, which results in play being postponed
or cancelled, then a notification will be made by the Tournament
Director. The Sports Weather Information Line (240-314-5055) will
be updated in the event of a delay/cancelation. Please be sure to
check this prior to coming to your game on Saturday and Sunday.
This recording will be updated at the earliest opportunity. In
addition, the Tournament Director ill also update all participants
via email with Weather updates.
5. The role of the Tournament Director/Program Supervisor:
a. Create and supervise the tournament.
b. Settle rule disputes.
c. Manage the Tournament Brackets.
6. The role of the Site Supervisor:
a. To monitor schedule.
b. To liaise with Tournament Director.
c. Keep participants safe.
7. Participants will need to bring the following to the
tournament:
a. Appropriate sized racquet.
b. Refreshments (please stay hydrated) - no drinks provided.
c. Appropriate clothing and footwear for tennis and the
elements.
d. Food.
e. Please note that spectators should be prepared for all elements
and conditions. Including no shade.
8. Spectator Expectations: We expect that spectators will be
positive supporters. We do have a couple expectations:
a. No coaching
b. No Scoring
c. No calling outs
ii. All complaints/concerns should be addressed to the Site
Supervisor.
9. Participant Conduct: We expect all participants to follow all
USTA Rules with regards to fair play. The full list of rules can be

10. Equipment:
a. Wilson Extra Duty Championship ball.
b. For each match participants will receive one (1) new can of
balls.
11. AWARDS - Awards shall be as follows:
Singles: Champions and finalists will receive a 10" trophy.
