Welcome to the A's & Aces' New Orleans One Day 10 &
Under Open ! Below is important information regarding our
event:
Communication
The best way to communicate with us before the tournament is by
email, NOT by phone. This is for documentation purposes and so that
way we can make sure nothing gets missed. Please adhere to this
request and send all questions/concerns via email to
Administration@AsAndAces.org.
Tournament site
The Joe Brown Park Tennis Center (JBTC on the draws) will be the
site for this tournament and is located at 5601 Read
Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70127.
Partners & Sponsors:
A's & Aces' partner - the New Orleans Recreation Development
Commission - provides its newly renovated beautiful facility to
host our tournament.
Second Serve Tennis Center donates tennis balls for all
divisions.
THANK YOU!
Open & Novice division (or also referred to as 'ranked'
and 'unranked' division)
If a player is new to tournament play but is able to rally, serve
and keep score, unranked divisions in level 5 tournaments are a
good way to begin playing competitive tennis. Unlike 'open'
divisions, ranking points are not earned for matches won in
unranked divisions. If you have any questions, please feel free to
email us at Administration@AsAndAces.org.
The boys and girls 10s divisions will have "open" and ''unranked"
singles divisions, but only 1 doubles division (no differentiation
between "open" and "unranked" for doubles). The 8 & under
division only has unranked (novice) singles.
Doubles information
When signing up for doubles, you must enter your partner's USTA
number. Also, BOTH partners must sign up indicating each other as
partners or they cannot be placed into the draw because we cannot
assume you are playing doubles if your partner lists you as his/her
partner but you do not sign up.
If you would like us to try to find you a doubles partner, please
email us as soon as possible (no later than by Monday, May 25) at
Administration@AsAndAces.org.
Special Rules for Boys and Girls 10's and 8's
The BG 10s division will be played on the 60' court with orange
balls. Players must use rackets no longer than 25".
The BG 8s will be played on the 36' court with red balls and
rackets no longer than 23".
With sufficient entries, there will be boys and girls draws.
Otherwise, BG 8s will be a co-ed event.
Scoring
Boys and Girls 10 Open and Novice ('unranked') will play sets to 4
with a 7-point tiebreaker at 4-4. The sets will use no ad scoring.
If they split sets, there is a 7-point tiebreaker played in place
of the third set. NO coaching allowed before the 3rd set
tiebreaker.

For parents new to tournaments
After you sign up for the tournament, your credit card will not be
charged until after the deadline for everyone to register for the
tournament closes. For this tournament, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 11:59
PM (Central Time) is the deadline and the entries will be processed
on Wednesday, which is when your credit card will be charged.
Be prepared to play all day on Saturday. With unpredictable
weather, matches may have to be shortened, moved, etc., to adjust
for such conditions. These tournaments are for the children, and we
will do everything we can to help you with anything you do not know
or need help with. Feel free to email Administration@AsAndAces.org
with any questions before the tournament starts.
Please have your child check in at the tournament desk at least
30 minutes prior to your child's first scheduled match time. If
courts are open, we will put your child's match on sooner and help
keep the tournament on schedule. Please keep in mind that there is
a 15 minute default period under USTA rules. A player who does not
check in by the time he/she is scheduled to play, will be put on
the clock for being late and penalized according to the rules in
relation to the untimeliness. After 15 minutes, the match is then
defaulted and your child will not get to play the match. This is
why it is so important to check in early and plan to arrive early
in case there is traffic or an accident or anything that can delay
you arriving early/on-time.
USTA Medical Release Form
All participants MUST sign a USTA Medical Release Form before
he/she steps on the court. We will have these sheets at check-in to
fill out when you check in or you can go to
http://louisianatennis.com/jr-competition, fill the form, and bring
it with you.
Checking in
Players need to check in for their 1st match AT LEAST 30 minutes
prior to the scheduled time. We will have Medical Release Forms
as well as a Parent Alert that needs to be signed BEFORE your
son/daughter(s) step onto the court. We will also have their
tournament player packet (tournament program, lunch ticket,
etc.).
Seeding
Seeding is done for Open divisions only. Unraked (Novice) divisions
do not have seeds.
Player Selection Type
No Selection Process. All registered players will be
selected.
