Open and novice divisions (or also referred to as Ranked and
Unranked divisions)
If a player is able to rally, serve and keep score, unranked
divisions in level 5 tournaments are a good way to begin playing
competitive tennis. Unlike Open divisions, ranking points are not
earned for matches won in unranked divisions. If you have any
questions, please feel free to email us at
Administration@AsAndAces.org.
Important information regarding this tournament
Tournament play will begin on Friday, August 7, 2015, for draws
with entries greater than 8 players. Otherwise, play will begin
Saturday morning. Play will conclude on Sunday, August 9,
2015.
The BG 14-18 divisions will only have 'Open' singles division. The
BG 10s and 12s divisions will have 'Open' and ''Unranked" singles
divisions, but only 1 doubles division (no differentiation between
Open and Novice for doubles) for each age group. The 8 & under
division only has unranked (novice) singles.
Lunch Recommendations:
A Subway store is located a few blocks from the tennis center at
9954 Lake Forest Blvd.
Doubles information
When signing up for doubles, you must enter your partner's USTA
number. Also, BOTH partners must sign up indicating each other as
partners or they cannot be placed into the draw because we cannot
assume you are playing doubles if your partner lists you as his/her
partner but you do not sign up.
If you would like us to try to find you a doubles partner, please
email us as soon as possible (no later than by Sunday, August 2) at
Administration@AsAndAces.org.
Doubles will be played on Saturday and Sunday. The singles draws
will be posted on Thursday, August 6th, and the doubles draws as
soon thereafter as possible, but at least by Friday.
Attention Boys and Girls 12's Unranked (Novice)
Divisions
The Louisiana Tennis Association has passed a new tournament
regulation regarding the 12's. The unranked (novice) 12's will use
the green dot ball in all their matches. If you have any questions
feel free to email Administration@AsAndAces.org .

For parents new to tournaments
After you sign up for the tournament, your credit card will not be
charged until after the deadline for everyone to register for the
tournament closes. For this tournament, Monday, August 3, 2015 is
the deadline (1 minute before midnight) and the entries will be
processed on Tuesday, which is when your credit card will be
charged.
Be prepared to play all weekend. With unpredictable weather,
matches may have to be shortened, moved, etc., to adjust for such
conditions. These tournaments are for the children, and we will do
everything we can to help you with anything you do not know or need
help with. Feel free to email Administration@AsAndAces.org with any
questions before the tournament starts.
Please have your child check in at the tournament desk at least
30 minutes prior to your child's first scheduled match time. If
courts are open, we will put your child's match on sooner and help
keep the tournament on schedule. Please keep in mind that there is
a 15 minute default period under USTA rules. A player who does not
check in by the time he/she is scheduled to play, will be put on
the clock for being late and penalized according to the rules in
relation to the untimeliness. After 15 minutes, the match is then
defaulted and your child will not get to play the match. This is
why it is so important to check in early and plan to arrive early
in case there is traffic or an accident or anything that can delay
you arriving early/on-time.
Scoring
Boys and Girls 12s-18s Open (ranked) divisions will play 2 out of 3
full sets in the main draw, but a 3rd set tiebreaker to 10 winning
by 2 for the consolation rounds.
Boys and Girls 12s unranked (novice) divisions will play 2 sets
with a 3rd set match tiebreaker (first to 10 points winning by 2)
in lieu of the 3rd set, for both main draw and consolation
matches.
Boys and Girls 10s open (ranked) and unranked (novice) will play
sets to 4 with a 7-point tiebreaker at 4-4. The sets will use no ad
scoring. If they split sets, there is a 7-point tiebreaker played
in place of the third set. NO coaching allowed before the 3rd set
tiebreaker.
There is no 3/4 playoffs in the singles (in 12s-18s divisions) or
the doubles (all divisions).
