Sportsmanship Winner
Congratulations to this year's winner of the EMS Chemie Sportsmanship award, Cortney Reed. Cortney exhibits all those things a coach is looking for in an athlete, smooth fluid movement, consistent effort and most importantly grace under pressure. Cortney lost his semi-final consolation match, but one would never be able to tell based on his on court demeanor. Thanks Cortney, for showing us all what good sportsmanship looks like.

Rain Contingency
The current forecast for the weekend calls for rain Friday - Sunday. We have already called the USTA South Carolina about ammending the scoring if we do get rain. My request to you is this. Get your updates from this website rather than calling in to speak with an official. We will update as often as possible and do our best to keep you informed. If rain comes during play our first order of business is to get the scores that are currently on court and then look at the possiblities going forward. We will make adjustments based on completing as much of the tournament as possible and cannot give preference to personal travel plans.

Doubles Times
Singles times will receive priority for scheduling on Sunday. Please check to see if your opponents or partner are involved in singles matches. Once everyone is out of singles we will move to complete the doubles. We ask for you help in keeping the desk informed as to matches that will impact your doubles. Thank you.

Player Amenities
All players will receive a tournament t-shirt and a lunch coupon to Jersey Mike's in Sumter. Lunch will include a sandwich, chips and beverage. The coupon must be used during the tournament dates. Fruit will be available each day for the players at the site.

10s Format
There will be a brief parents meeting before the first 10's match is played. That meeting will take place at 9:15 with the first matches under way at 9:30. All 10s competitors will check in at the 10s desk located behind and to the left of the tennis shop. Parents will be guided to the meeting from there. All 10's events will be played using the approved USTA Quickstart format. Matches will be played on a 60 foot court. They will play the best 2 out of 3 short sets (first one to four) with a 7 point tie-break at 4 all and will play a 7 point tie-breaker in lieu of the 3rd set.
