The tournament format for open players is single elimination in singles and doubles. The tournament format for challenger players is fmlc, first match loser consolation for singles and single elimination for doubles. All challenger singles players will be scheduled for 2 singles matches at least if the numbers work out. The Match format for open singles is best of three sets with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set and an 8 game pro set for open doubles. The challenger level is 2 out of 3 with a 10 point tie break and an 8 game pro set for doubles. Consolation singles will also be 2 out of 3 with a 10 point tie break game for singles. Regular scoring will be used for all divisions. The usta has eliminated all novice tournaments. All novice players are encouraged to sign up for challenger level play.

Scheduling
We will post the draws no later than 8a on the Wednesday before a Saturday start. Most of the time you will be able to check the draws late on Tuesday evening. This is a 4 day consecutive day tournament. We will play most of the matches over the first weekend unless we have large draws or incliment weather. Do not be surprised if you are scheduled to play on any of the scheduled dates. Your start time may play anytime from 8am to 10p for start times depending on the day and age group that you are participating in. 12s and 14s will not start later than 630p on a Sunday for example. However, all of the dates are holiday days so we will follow all holiday or Saturday scheduling rules. Please do not ask for a schedule avoidance unless it is SAT testing or ACT testing that is your conflict.! It is not fair for tournaments to schedule matches around a players personal schedule. Please do not call or email for your start time unless you have tried to find it on the tournament home page and cannot figure it out. Please go to the tournament home page and click on draws to find your start times. Players are responsible for finding their own start times and staying posted with rain delays and other possible changes. Please check the draws the morning of the tournament to make sure that there are no changes to your time or a possible weather delay.

Attention all players and alternates
Thank You for applying for the tournament! This is a limied draw/tournament director selection tournament. The selection process is determined by the usta. If you were not accepted then you were automatically put on an alternate list and we will notify you if a spot opens up. Please email us if you do not want to be put on the alternate list. You also will not be charged for your entry fee. This is a new tournament that was sanctioned this year. The problem with the usta sanctioning a new tournament and not a longstanding one is that we cannot prepare for the amount of players ahead of time. We hate turning any players away and would like to give the most amount of players an opportunity to play. Please check your start time on friday just in case your opponent has withdrawn and your schedule changes!

Selection process, Eligibility, Seeding
This tournament is a Tournament Director selection process. That means that you are not in the tournament until we accept you. Most likely we will accept all players unless we have extreme large draws. We will follow the usta rules on the selection process if we do not accept all players. It is a top down selection process for open players and bottom up for challenger players. Eligibility to this tournament is open to all usta members that fall in the correct age brackets. If your birthday is during the same month of the tournament then you must play in the next higher age group. The seeding method that is used is whatever the current norcalusta list is on the day that we do the draws.
