|
*** Tournament Update as of Sunday 11/15 at 11AM ***
The courts are still wet but we believe that they will be playable by 1PM, so play is now delayed to 1PM. Please come early, especially for matches from mid-afternoon on, so we will try to get all matches completed. We are reducing the play format to a 6 games pro set (a regular set) in an attempt to finish the tournament so the participants can get the points and the trophies. The posted schedules have been updated to reflect a 1PM start with the reduced format!!!. ==> This will be updated as needed!!!
|
*** Tournament Update as of Tuesday 11/10 ***
The new schedules are now posted. Due to the time lost to the rain, we need to reduce the format to an 8 games Pro Set for all events, Singles and Doubles. Singles matches interrupted by rain will resume where they left off
and use the original format of 2 sets and a match tie-break (10 points). Format for the final singles matches will be 2 sets and a match tie-break (10 points).

*** How to Find Your First Match Date/Time and Location ***
If you are new to tournaments, here is how to find your first match: [1]
On this web site (where you registered and where you are reading this
note), look for the 'Draws' button on the right hand side from the
'Important Info' button. [2] You will see a pull-down menu. Select the age group for the player. [3] If the draw is small, you will see one symbol and one draw symbol. If you are playing Challenger, you will also see a draw on the right, called consolation draw. [4] If this is a large draw, you will see two draw symbols, one above the other. [5] Select whichever draw you are interested in by clicking on the number on its right. [6] Look on the left to find the player's name. [7] Follow to the right of the line next to the name and that will take you to the date/time/location of the match. The location is indicated by a site abbreviation. (The sites are listed later on on this web page, with for each, the full name, its abbreviation, its address and a Google map).
|
*** Be Aware that the Tournament Operates over two Sites ***
For each match, you will find the date and time and then an abbreviation for the sites. The
information about those sites is at the end of the tournament web site,
with the full names, the addresses, the site abbreviations and Google
maps.
DAC stands for De Anza College and FHS stands for Fremont High School in Sunnyvale. The two sites are not far from each other.
|
*** Important Parking Notice ***
Parking your car on the campus (anywhere) requires a parking permit ($3) that you can obtain at a machine on either side of the parking building in front of the tennis courts. There is free parking on the other side of Stelling near a church.
|

is your responsibility to check the web site (Competitors list and
draws) to learn about your doubles participation. Players without a partner will be paired up after Monday night!!! [3] Please register at the same level for singles and doubles!!! (e.g. If you play B14 singles, you cannot play B12 doubles or B16 doubles, or play G12 singles Challenger and G12 doubles Open). [4] The tournament reserves the right to limit the size of each of the draws/events to 16 singles and 8 doubles (or above). The 12s and under will be limited to 16 singles players and to 8 doubles teams. All other events could be limited up to 32 singles players and to 16 doubles teams as resources allow (or lower). *** Concurrent Tournament Rule ***
When entries close, a player shall not be
entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments if any parts of the
tournaments overlap, unless each Tournament Committee involved
understands the situation and concurs in writing. If entries for the
overlapping tournaments close on different dates, approval must be
received from all Tournament Committees no later than the entry closing
date that occurs last. Players who enter a tournament and play it to
completion, may then enter another tournament with overlapping dates
without permission. A player who is on the alternate list in one
tournament is not considered in violation of the Concurrent Tournament
Rule if they enter another concurrent tournament. Players who violate the Concurrent Tournament Rule shall forfeit all ranking points earned at the concurrent tournament.
