ONSITE ALTERNATES
Friday night, there will be a list at registration for Onsite Alternates to register and provide contact information. This list will also be at the Tournament Desk Saturday and Sunday for alternates to register. Monday, any girl alternates must be onsite no later than 7:30 am. Any boy alternates must be onsite no later than 9:30 am.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT AND STANDARDIZED SCHEDULE OF PLAY
Draw Format and Standardized Tournament Schedule of Play: The draw format shall be a Compass Draw of 16 teams and teams shall play one round per day. The standardized schedule will incorporate time for training and education for the tournament participants.
Seeding: The draws shall not be seeded.
Match Formats: All singles matches shall be the best of 3 Tiebreak Sets. All doubles match formats shall be an 8-game Pro Set with a 7-Point Tiebreak at 8 games all. Match Formats are annually subject to change and approval by the Junior Competition & Sportsmanship Committee. Refer to Friend at Court for updates.
Team Line-ups: The team line-up for each Team Match must be submitted to the Tournament Committee prior to the Team Match at a time to be determined by the Tournament Committee. No changes to the team line-up may be made except for illness, injury, or personal circumstances and are subject to the approval of the Tournament Committee. A player, for reason of illness, injury or personal circumstances, who does not play a match or retires from a match is eligible to play a subsequent match on the same day. • Singles Line-up: The #1 waterfalled players in each division will play each other; the #2 waterfalled players in each division will play each other. • Doubles Line-up: Doubles combinations and line-ups will be determined by the coach. Coaches may pair two players from different divisions as a doubles team to create the strongest line up possible. Coaches must use good faith in determining the strongest team and play that team in the #1 doubles match. Note: for ranking purposes, all doubles matches are treated as 18 and under division matches - points will count down to any division the player has played in the preceding 12 months.
Team Match: Each Team Match shall consist of four doubles matches followed by eight singles matches. Each team will receive one point for each singles win and the team that wins a majority of the doubles matches receives one point.
Determining the Winner of a Team Match: Each singles and doubles match counts for one point. The total possible points earned in a Team Match is 12 points. The team that wins the most points wins the Team Match. If the score is tied 6 points all the winner of the Team Match will be determined by TBA
Match Score Sheet: After the completion of a team match, the coaches of both teams must sign both score sheets.

WATER-FALLING PLAYERS ONTO TEAMS
Composition of Teams: Each team shall be comprised of 2 players from each of the 18, 16, 14, and 12 divisions. Players shall be water-falled onto teams as described below. There will be 16 Boys teams and 16 Girls teams. Timing of Waterfall: No earlier than three days before the start of the tournament, the Tournament Committee shall waterfall players as described below. Water-falling Method: Players in each division shall be waterfalled onto 16 teams so as to distribute the players among the teams as set forth below. Before water-falling, players shall be ordered 1-32 based on the order in which their names appear on the most recently published National Standings List of the division, except that the players ranked in the top 1000 ATP/top 500 WTA shall be placed on the top of the list in rank order, followed by players ranked int he top 100 ITF in rank order. Example: From the "table" above, Boys Team 1 would have the following ordered players: Boys 18s #1 and #32, 16s #16 and #17, 14s #9 and #24, 12s #8 and #25 making it an 8 person team. Boys and Girls Teams are separate.

TEAM COACHES:
Each team will have a designated coach. Team Coaches will be selected by the national Player Development Staff from among National Coaches, RTC Coaches, and USTA "faculty" coaches. A player may receive coaching from the coach during a match, but only during a changeover or set break. Coaching must be carried out in a manner that does not distract play on adjoining courts. The coach may only enter the court on a changeover or a set break. On-court coaching must be done from the net post area where players rest on changeovers. Off-court coaching must be done from a position behind the court and outside the fence. Parents and personal coaches are welcome to attend the tournament, but will not be involved with the tournament except as spectators.

DRESS CODE:
For the Boys:
* Any T-shirts worn must be plain or tennis related
* No underwear should be visible above waist band or below hemline
* Shirts must be worn at all times
* Shorts must be worn appropriately above pelvic bones
* Sleeveless shirts are acceptable if made that way - no cutoffs
For the Girls:
* Any T-shirts must be plain or tennis related
* Compression shorts must be fully
covered with a skirt or dress. Also known as "shorties" or "booty
shorts" are not allowed to be worn without being covered
* Skirts and shorts must be worn appropriately above the pelvic bones
* The bottom of your Shirt must touch
the top of your Skirt or Short while standing upright-shoulders back; this means do not roll down your skirts or shorts. Trust us when we tell
you that your equipment (skirt or short) is not working properly during
play when rolled

every player. This form must be presented at the time of tournament

WITHDRAWALS:
Withdrawal Prior to Entry Deadline:
Go to the Tournament website and click "EDIT REGISTRATION" on the right
side of your screen then "Withdraw". From there you can withdraw. If you
do not know your Confirmation #, then click "Locate Confirmation" just
below "Withdraw." We cannot withdraw you, you must do this yourself.
You will lose the processing fee if you do not withdraw online before
registration closes.
Withdrawal After Entry Deadline:
Immediately contact the tournament to withdraw from the tournament. You
must fax or email your withdrawal. DO NOT call to withdraw. The email
is tennismobile@gmail.com and the fax is (251) 208-5195. If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the tournament. There are No
refunds. Defaulting during the tournament:
You must see the trainer and get approval from the Head Referee at the
Mobile Tennis Center. Do not tell just anyone at the desk and think you have
properly defaulted. Unless you speak to the Head Referee in person, it
will count as a "No Show." WE WILL NOT ACCEPT ANY WITHDRAWALS OVER THE
PHONE!
If the player is not playing because of an injury or illness, the
player shall provide written verification of the injury or illness from
a medical professional no later than the last scheduled day of the
tournament OR a visit with the onsite trainer will suffice.

Pro Warmups: If you are in need of a Tennis Pro on Friday, you can call the Pro and arrange a time with him directly: Michael O'Brien 251-591-0194 Upon arrival for you warmup, you pay for your time with the pro at the city desk, cash or credit card. Obtain a receipt and show it to the pro prior to your lesson. $45 for an hour and $25 for a half-hour. We do have a Fully Stocked Pro Shop at the Mobile Tennis Center. The

STRINGER:
There will be two Experienced Stringers at the Mobile Tennis Center
during the tournament. Cost with your own string is $15. We also have a
large string inventory if you do not have your own.

TRAINER:
One trainer will be on site at the Mobile Tennis Center during matches.
By law, trainers are not allowed to distribute any medicine. Please
bring your own Tylenol, Advil, Sinus Medicine, Epi Pens, etc. If you have an injury or illness, we strongly suggest you see the
trainer. If you need to withdraw due to injury or illness, the process
will be much smoother if we have confirmation from the trainer. Without
confirmation, or a written doctors excuse by the end of the tournament,
you may incur suspension points for leaving. Remember if you withdraw
during the tournament, you must see the Head Referee in person or it
will count as a "No Show"

The Mobile Marriott Hotel is the host hotel where most of the players
will stay. Because this is a Team
Tournament, the host hotel will be a big part of the experience. Reservations are on a first come first serve
basis and the hotel will fill quickly. The Mobile Marriott has 250 rooms with a $99
rate that includes free breakfast. Other
amenities at the hotel specifically for the Spring Team Tennis Championships
Tournament include:
- All 32 USTA National Coaches are staying

fill quickly with tennis players.

TOURNAMENT SELECTION AND ALTERNATES
Selection Process: Separate USTA National Spring Team Championships shall be held for boys and girls. The TennisLink selection system shall accept 32 players from each division (BG 18-12) in the draw as follows: - Up to 4 wild cards are granted by the USTA Wild Card Committee. - The remaining players from the most recently published National Standings List from each age division, provided they have submitted timely entries, in the order in which their names appear. - Online Notification: Main draw players and alternates can view lists published to the TennisLink Tournament Home Page no later than 3 days after the entries close. All players accepted by the TennisLink system will be sent a confirmation email that includes as part of the text of the email the USTA Release and USTA Medical Release Form. Any accepted player whose credit card was unable to be charged will also be sent an email notifying them of the problem with the credit card and instructing them to contact the tournament to make arrangements for payment - Ordered Alternate List: The Tournament Committee will prepare an alternate list for each division of those players with timely entries not accepted into the draw in the order in which their names appear on the same National Standings List used to accept players into the draw. Late entrants shall be placed on the alternates list in the order received after timely entries.

There are too many alternates and late entries are not likely to be offered a spot. --This is a Level 1 National Team Championship. --The competition will include 2 days of training and education followed by 4 days of competition. --There are 16 Boys teams and 16 Girls Teams --There are 32 competitors per age division --A player must be present all six days to participate in this event. --Registration will be Friday evening. --The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams shall receive Gold, Silver and Bronze Balls. --You will register as an individual. --Participants will make and pay for their own travel arrangements, and will require chaperons. --At this time, there will not be transportation provided from the host hotel. (This may change; but, please understand minors must be accompanied by an adult if transportation from the hotel is provided.) --You may only register for one age division. --You need only register for singles. Although the system allows doubles entry, it asks for a partner name which you will not know. --Coaches are only responsible for on court activities and team building exercises. Coaches are not chaperons and will not provide transportation. Even if a player's regular coach is at the event, that coach may be assigned to a team which does not include that specific player. That coach will be occupied with his team and cannot be responsible for his regular student during the event. --No housing is provided for players. --Thursday, March 12th, you can use a 5:00 completion as a guideline for travel purposes. We try to finish as early as possible on the last day but weather will determine what that time will be.

WILD CARD APPLICATION, DEADLINE & CRITERIA - Click "more info" for the online application
Application: Requests for Wild Cards are submitted by players using an online
application. Click link below.Deadline: Applications must be received no later than five days
after the entry deadline for the tournament. Criteria: - Wild Card applicants do not require Sectional Endorsement, but he application must be approved by he Sectional Office. - No player that is under suspension by the USTA, a Sectional Association, the ITF, the ITA, the WTA, or the ATP may be awarded a wild card. - No player who has a national standing below the standing of the first alternate may be awarded a wild card unless, in the opinion of the Wild Card Committee, the player will improve the overall strength of field of the tournament. - No player who submits a late wild card application may be considered. Timely entries into the tournament are recommended, but are not required (Note: if the only excuse is a late tournament entry, a wild card most likely will not be awarded.) - A player with an established record in international, professional, or collegiate competition may be considered. - A player whose ability to qualify has been affected by injury, illness, or other personal circumstance may be considered. - A player with a high standing in a younger age division of the event may be considered. - A player with a high standing in the division of the event who was not endorsed by their Sectional Association may be considered, provided that the player has been recommended for a wild card by their Sectional Association. - A player who has been recommended for a wild card by the USTA National Coaching Staff may be considered. Awarding of Wild Cards: The Wild Card Committee will meet as soon as is practicable after the entry deadline to select from among the Wild Card applicants. The USTA Junior Competition Department will coordinate distribution of applications and the meeting time. As soon as Wild Card players are selected, they are notified by the USTA Jr Competition Department. After an offer has been accepted with the USTA Jr. Comp office (you must communicate to them you accept the offer), then you must immediately contact the Pro Shop at 251-208-5185 to arrange payment.

REGISTRATION Check In- While the Official Registration is Friday 5:00 - 8:00 pm, we will have staff at the Host Hotel - Mobile Marriott until 9:30 pm. Please make every effort to make it by that time. If you do not make it by 9:30 pm Friday night, the Girls can register Saturday morning 7:30-8:30 am, and the Boys can register Saturday morning 8:30-10:00 am. Saturday Registration will be held at the Mobile Tennis Center. What to do if you are Missing Friday Registration - If you do not make registration Friday night, please fax (251-208-5195) or email (tennismobile@gmail.com) your Medical Release Waiver. You must include the name of your hotel and cell phone number(s) in use during the tournament. Make sure your entry fee has been paid. Also, email or text (251-610-0483) by 8:00 pm, your expected arrival time.
Saturday Training is Required - If you cannot make your required training time Saturday morning, YOU MUST WITHDRAW. We have an average of 50 alternates in each division who are waiting for an open spot. The Training Days are just as important as the the actual match days. This is a Team Event. Missing any part of training on Saturday would be letting your team down.
ONSITE ALTERNATES - Please check in during registration at the Mobile Marriott.
SATURDAY - Daylight Savings Time - Spring Forward: Before you go to bed Saturday night, make sure the device you use as an alarm clock will set forward one hour.
