NEW BALANCE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP, PRESENTED BY USTA
New Balance High School Tennis Championship, presented by USTA, is a tournament for the best interscholastic tennis players in the country at Harvard University in Boston, MA from July 21-24, 2014. All entrants MUST have participated on their respective varsity high school teams. On July 24th the tournament will honor one boy and one girl as the NEW BALANCE High School Tennis Champion. There are no national or sectional USTA points for this tournament. Results will be posted on the USTA tennislink site and on Tennisrecruiting.net

MONDAY NIGHT JULY 21st NEW BALANCE CHAMPIONSHIPS WELCOME DINNER, JIM COURIER FEATURED SPEAKER
The Welcome Dinner at Harvard University will be on Monday night. This will be at a spectacular on-campus location.

TUESDAY NIGHT JULY 22nd WORLD FAMOUS BOSTON DUCK TOURS AND PIZZA PARTY
On Tuesday night there will be an exciting pizza party for the players. Then the players will go on the world famous “Duck Tour” around Boston departing from the host hotel.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT JULY 23rd SOCIAL EVENT AT OFFICIAL HOTEL
On Wednesday night there will be an ice cream social and radio bingo event for the players at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge from 7:30pm-9:30pm.

THURSDAY JULY 24TH APROX 2PM CLOSING CEREMONIES AND AWARDS CEREMONY. PLAN YOUR TRAVEL PLANS FOR DEPARTURE ON THURSDAY AFTER THE CLOSING CEREMONY
After the finals and placement matches finish there will be a closing ceremony and award ceremony.

LOCATION: BEREN TENNIS CENTER AT HARVARD UNIVERSITY
This state-of-the-art center boasts 18 courts-six of which feature stadium seating-a two-tiered pavilion with locker rooms, a media center, offices, court-viewing areas, and accommodates nearly 500 spectators. Combined with the six indoor courts at the Murr Center, the nationally-ranked Harvard University tennis teams have perhaps the finest facilities of any team in the Northeast.

DRAWS AND MATCH PLAY FORMAT
The draw size for the tournament for singles will be limited to 64 players. The tournament will use a compass draw format. Each Player will be expected to play placement matches through Thursday. The main draw format will be two out of three sets tie break sets. In the (back draw) placement matches a shorten scoring format my be used.

TOURNAMENT HOTEL: HYATT REGENCY CAMBRIDGE,OVERLOOKING BOSTON $119 PER NIGHT CUT OFF DATE IS JULY 5th

hotel. New Balance will offset the cost of the hotel to the participants. The
special discounted rate of $119 per night will be applied at arrival. Please
note that your credit card will not be charged prior to check out. Breakfast
will be provided at the hotel to the athlete only. Parents and coaches can
purchase breakfast. Free transportation will be provided to the Beren Tennis Center and public transportation is excellent in Boston. Renting a car will not
be necessary. Parking is $15 per day at the hotel and is the responsibility of
the guests to cover that cost.

SPECIAL WILDCARD OPPORTUNITY INTO AN ITF EVENT FOR THE ONE BOY AND ONE GIRL
Champions of New Balance High School Tennis Championship, presented by USTA will be awarded WILDCARDS into the International Hard Court Championship, August 18-24, 2014 in College Park, Maryland.

Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, June 19, 2014 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
