Second Weekend - Let's hope for good weather!
The schedules are posted for the second weekend. Please check your schedule and draw carefully - check them often in case players withdraw or other changes occur.
Formats: all singles matches, including consolations, EXCEPT for the BG12s, will play the best of three tiebreak sets. If players split sets, a 10-minute rest period occurs. Players may leave the court, receive coaching, and go to the restroom. Players do not get extra time after the 10 minutes and must be back on court ready to play. New balls for the third set. BG12s will use a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the third set. Players may have a 3-minute coaching period if they split sets. Coaching should be done off court but near the court. After coaching, players if needed may take a bathroom break BUT NO COACHING is allowed once they leave for the bathroom. Doubles remains an 8-game proset with a 7-point set tiebreak at 8-games all.
The weather is predicted to be very warm. Drink plenty of fluids and take care of yourselves. If doubles players agree to play their last match on Saturday, please let the desk know and if possible they will make arrangements for you to play.
Travel safely. We hope to see you all this weekend!

Welcome to the Rio del Oro Excellence! Please read the following information on schedule of play and formats -
This tournament is a two-weekend Excellence over four days. Players should anticipate that play may occur for them over all four days. We cannot predict the weather, and if the first weekend rains out, we will play fully on the second. So please do not ask for avoidances for concurrent tournaments or for other issues. If you enter, please plan to play! The schedule of play is determined by the NorCal office. Day 1 is two rounds of main draw singles, first round of singles consolation, and one round of main draw doubles. Day 2 is main draw singles quarters, consolation round 2, and quarters and semis of doubles. Day 3 is main draw semis, QF playoffs, consolation quarters, and finals/place of doubles. Day 4 is main draw finals and place, consolation semis and finals, 5th and 6th playoff. 7th and 8th playoff is not held at this time. Remember that this schedule may change if inclement weather intervenes! Format for all main draw singles EXCEPT the BG12 is the best of three tiebreak sets. BG12 main draw singles will use a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of the third set. All doubles will use an 8-game proset format with a 7-point set tiebreak at 8 games all. All players and their associated parents, coaches, and spectators are expected to follow and to play under The Code. The point penalty system will be in effect and lateness penalties will be enforced.
