*** Note about the 12 Novice Events ***
For 2014, the USTA NorCal rules define how those 12 novice events will be run: [1] Green balls will be used: those balls with a 75% pressure are much better for younger players. The players actually do not mind the difference as it only makes the balls bounce a bit lower. [2] The match format (for both doubles and singles) is one regular set (a set to 6 games with a 7 points tie-break at 6-6). [3] Participation in doubles is mandatory: all players will automatically be registered in doubles (unless we don't have enough players and then some will be left out). [4] The event format will be round-robin with two groups (A and B), with playoff matches (semis and final/playoff) between the top two players in each event.
==> Please check BOTH the doubles and singles events for your matches. ==> After the round-robin events, please check with the tournament desk if you qualified for the final rounds.

*** Check Your Draw Closely for your Site (for Each Match) ***
All draws are subject to change. Please recheck draws for changes in time and or withdrawals. All changes made within 24 hrs of tournament start will be phoned to the affected parties.Make sure to have all contact info with the USTA. Doubles times may change if you were scheduled to play a team with only one player. Remember that both players on a team must sign up for doubles before the deadline.

[3] After the posting of the draws, please FIRST CALL the TD and then email BOTH the Tournament Director and the Referee.
Withdraws are sometimes necessary, and are only excused if they are for illness, injury, or emergency. Withdrawals made before entries close can be handled by the player by going into your TennisLink record and deleting your entry..... Your credit card will not be charged.
