TOURNAMENT DETAILS
a. Draw Size and Format. The doubles draw size shall be limited to 32 teams. A compass draw will be used.
b. Selection Process. Teams shall be selected in the order of their combined standings using the most recently published Doubles Seeding List of the division. For example, Player A holds the #1 standing and Player B holds the #10 standing. The Team of A&B would have the combined standing of 11. A team with a combined standing greater than 11 is selected after Team A&B. If there is a tie, the team with the player that has the highest doubles standing on the list shall be selected first.
All teams not selected shall be placed on Alternate Lists that are ordered using the same methods of selecting players or teams into the tournament described in above. The Alternate Lists shall be used to replace withdrawing players and teams, except that a Late Entry may not be accepted into the draw if it invalidates the seeding.
Doubles Partner Notification Deadline; Paring of Players Without Partners. No later 6:00PM on Monday, August 18th, any doubles players that have not previously entered as a team shall advise the Tournament Director or Head Referee of the partnership choice. Any players who are unpaired at that time will be randomly paired by the Tournament Committee after 6:00PM Monday, August 18th. If random parings will take place, players entered in doubles without a partner that do not desire to play doubles must notify the Tournament Committee of their desire to withdraw (without penalty) by the Monday deadline.
d. Team Selection Publication Requirement. The doubles team selection lists shall be published no later than 10:00 am on the Wednesday before the start of the tournament.
e. Match and Scoring Formats. All doubles matches shall use an 8-game proset format with a 7-point tiebreak at 8-games all. Regular scoring shall be used. NOTE: If it is in the best interest of player health and safety, the match format may be shortened.

LATE ENTRIES
Events with Limited Draw Sizes. When an event has a limited draw size, Late Entries are placed on the Alternate List after timely entries in the order they are received. Late Entries received at the same time are ordered by lot. If accepted from the Alternates List, a player will be notified via email if a spot becomes available. If offered a spot, players will be given a short amount of time to respond and will be required to provide credit card information for entry fee processing.
|
WITHDRAWALS
Before entries close, players must withdraw themselves online via the registration process. After online entries close, a valid reason for withdrawal must be given. Valid reasons per USTA are injury/illness (medical note required) or personal emergency (explanation required). Medical notes need to be provided via fax or email anytime before the tournament concludes to avoid penalties associated with improper withdrawal.
