*** Note about the 12 Novice Events ***
The USTA NorCal rules define how those 12 novice events will be run:
[1] Green balls will be used: those balls with a 75% pressure are much
better for younger players. The players actually do not mind the
difference as it only makes the balls bounce a bit lower.
[2] The match format (for both doubles and singles) is one regular set (a set to 6 games with a 7 points tie-break at 6-6).
[3] Participation in doubles is mandatory: all players will
automatically be registered in doubles (unless we don't have enough
players and then some will be left out).
[4] The event format will be defined after close of registrations but
likely will be a round-robin with two groups (A and B), with playoff
matches (semis and final/playoff) between the top two players in each
event.
==> Please check BOTH the doubles and singles events for your matches.
==> After the round-robin events, please check with the tournament desk if you qualified for the final rounds.

*** Concurrent Tournament Rule ***
A player shall not be entered at the time
entries close in two or more USTA sanctioned tournaments scheduled to
take place at the same time, in whole or in part, unless each Tournament
Committee involved understands the situation, concurs in writing, and
each agrees to accommodate the player’s schedule. The final decision
rests with each tournament committee. If one tournament agrees to accept
concurrent entries and accommodate the player's schedule but the
concurrent tournament does not, the player may not enter both. If
entries for the overlapping tournaments close on different dates,
approval must be received from all Tournament Committees no later than
the entry closing date that occurs last. Players who enter a tournament
and play it to completion, may then enter another tournament with
overlapping dates without permission. If a player violates this
concurrent tournament rule ranking points earned in any concurrent
tournament played will not count toward ranking or the Grand Prix Points
Race and the concurrent tournaments will not count toward the minimum
tournament requirement to qualify for Grand Prix.

please submit any withdrawal in writing first by emailing BOTH the TD
and the Referee (see above), and then also CALL the TD (phone number
above).
[3] After the posting of the draws, please FIRST CALL the TD and then email BOTH the TD and the Referee.
