Sylvano Tennis Academy: Thanksgiving Open is a 3 day tournament for boys and girls (18 - 12) singles only (Nov 28, 29, & 30th). This is an intermediate level tournament. Come join us and enjoy competitive tennis. As always, we hold all players, spectators, and tournament staff members to a high standard of conduct, sportsmanship, and professionalism. Online registration required.
All 12 and under players, you are responsible to make sure you are eligible to play "yellow ball" level tournament. Thank you.

Special Scheduling Requests:
We do expect you to be available to play all the tournament dates. If you are not, make a request for "time avoidance". We will try to accommodate the best we can. Please keep in mind this is only 3 day tournament. Most requests may not be accepted. Please email your request to the Head Referee BEFORE the draws are posted.

Singles Match and Draw Format:
SINGLES ONLY: Best of 3 tiebreak sets with match tiebreak played in lieu of 3rd set; single elimination rounds But, be prepared to play 8 game pro sets (due to rain). Playoff for the 3rd & 4th place finishers Trophies for: winner, finalist, 3rd place finisher, and 4th place finisher

Draw Size:
32 Entries Per Event: Although the draw size is limited to 32 entries per event, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to accept more than 32 entries in an event if it believes (based on the TOTAL entries received for ALL events) it can reasonably accommodate the additional matches required by exceeding this limit.

Primary Site: (STA) Santa Clara Golf & Tennis: 5155 Stars and Stripes Drive Santa Clara, CA 95051 (Major cross streets are Tasman & Great America Pky. The courts are located across from the new 49ers stadium and next to the new City of Santa Clara Parking Garage. You are welcome to park in the garage. There are no fees.)

Check-In Procedures:
Please check-in at the tournament desk at least 15 minutes before your scheduled match time. There may be traffic congestion due to the 49ers stadium construction. Please give yourself plenty of time. Players are expected to check and comply with all scheduling done by the Tournament Committee. Make sure you check the draw CAREFULLY so you know at which site you are playing. At the tournament desk, make sure you leave contact number and email for changes in scheduling or an emergency.

Ball Type:
Penn (usta certified regular yellow ball); Please make sure you are eligible to play the yellow ball.

Seeding Method:
The Head Referee will do the draws using the TDM.

Eligibility:
This tournament is open to all USTA junior members in good standing with the USTA and in "yellow ball" level.
Pathway Requirements for Competing in Tournaments USTA NorCal established a pathway for players aged 12-and-under to enter into the competitive tournament structure. The purpose of the pathway is to ensure that juniors are playing at their appropriate age and skill level. The pathway is mandatory as of January 1, 2014. Players are selected manually by the tournament director after the close of registration.
