Welcome Players! Yuba City embraces the 3 day weekend! Yuba City
Racquet Club is known for our Hospitality, Awesome Staff and
Tournament Desk. We are Fun, High Energy and Kind of Loud! We take
the tennis serious but we also realize that life is short- so let's
not take ourselves too seriously. We have great viewing of all 10
courts from our upstairs balcony- Friday night is our Spaghetti
night- all players and guest are treated to a great meal along with
refreshments- (Yes- we really do feed everyone!) The Friday night
scene has evolved into a great night of tennis and enjoying doing
nothing but sipping from the keg and watching your buddy go down in
flames! We play late into the night- so be prepared to play 5 pm
on- it's not punishment to play- just schedule a 1/2 day or pull
the "Horrible Bosses" trick. Get in your car, grab your buddies and
hit the road. Yuba City is only 30 minutes from Sacramento
airport...really! you have one month to figure it out. schedule
your work accordingly.
Saturday begins at 8 am- sorry if you partied too hard the night
before- not that you'd be playing at that time...but you might! The
DIRTY PIGGY ROAST is now being moved to the North lawn and parking
lot- We are bringing in wood panel fences and closing down the
parking lot! Jammin DJ Master EricPdaddy will be kickin down the
tunes. shaded Beer garden, street tacos, Piggy, and Casa Carlos
CalMex apps- will be on hand as you stay connected to the event!
For those of you playing during the "Street Fest" you will be the
entertainment and the Energy will be AWESOME!!! Yes, the music will
be playing during tournament time, just know that.
Sunday- Sorry if you are the 8 a.m. match, but there's nothing like
knocking the ball around early in the morning.
Now comes the showdown for the famous or infamous Yuba City (hand
made metal art piggy's.) You know you have made it when you leave
town with a golden piggy from Yuba City!
Matches- All matches are 2 out of 3 set with the 3rd set a super
tiebreaker to 10 points (except Men's & Women's Open singles
division) full 3rd set will be played)- sorry if that disappoints
you but this format is really the best way to move the tourney
along is a timely manner- and for you weekend warriors- it really
saves the old muscles from being pulled. It can reach over a 100
degrees on court- Players may play in two doubles events (gender
& mixed) in the same division- please do not asked to play in
two different double divisions, it makes scheduling a
nightmare, please just find a different partner.
Sites- Everyone should arrive 1 hour before your match time to get
yourself adjusted to YCSF- (Yuba City Standard Fun) makes its
easier on the tourney desk- (remember-We are an 1/2 hour from the
Sacramento Airport- )All Players please check into the main tourney
desk at-Yuba City Racquet Club- 825 Jones Road, Yuba City, Ca.
95991- Our sister site is Rancho Cortez located about 1.2 miles
from YCRC. we use RC when we feel the need to keep the flow going
of the event. Please, no whining allowed if you are moved to
Rancho- RC is a great spot to play tennis.
We use Wilson US OPEN Championship tennis balls- I figure it's good
enough for Roger then its good enough for the lot of you.
