IF YOU ARE AN ALTERNATE and wish to be
removed from the list to free you up to enter another event, please
email me your request.
Otherwise, I will leave
you as an alternate and could contact you as late as the day of the
event to fill a spot. There are often many alternates chosen to
fill vacated spots.
TOURNAMENT WILL BE A 64 DRAW SINGLES AND INCLUDE A FEED-IN
CONSOLATION.
Main Draw will play two out of three full sets and Consolation will
play a Matchtiebreak (Supertiebreak) in lieu of the third set. Two
matches a day for the Main Draw and up to three matches per day for
the Consolation. The FIC Consolation will stop at the
Semi-finals.
IMPORTANT - - MUST READ
USTA/MIDWEST SECTION PLAYER MULTIPLE ENTRY GUIDELINES FOR DUAL
PAIRED LEVEL 1/3 AND LEVEL 2/4 TOURNAMENTS ON THE SAME
WEEKEND:
You must read the USTA Multiple Event document before signing up
for this event. You are no longer allowed to sign up for both
events on the same weekend till after the selections for the higher
level event have been posted. If you are a Competitor of the higher
level event (Level 1 or 2), you will not be allowed to sign up for
the lower level event (Level 3 or 4).
REMINDER: THIS IS A THREE DAY EVENT
This tournament ends on Monday. If you MUST go to school or parents
MUST go to work on Monday, do NOT sign up for this event even if
you think you will not "make it" till Monday. You must be Injured,
Ill or there must be an Emergency for you to withdraw. The USTA
Referee has the right to ask for Doctor's proof.
PLAYER SELECTION AND NUMBERED ALTERNATE LIST WILL BE POSTED BY
MONDAY , OCTOBER 28TH BY 6PM
USTA/MIDWEST SECTION SEEDING & SELECTION CRITERIA
All USTA/Midwest Sectional and Designated Tournaments will adhere
to the following Seeding and Selection Criteria as set by the
USTA/Midwest Section Junior Competition Committee. Players will be
selected based on the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing
List at the time of the tournament entry deadline. Players will be
selected by the following 1. Eight (8) players from the top 100 of
the most current USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in next lower
division (except in the boys and girls 12s divisions where 4
players will be selected) 2. 56 players from the most current
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the current age division of
the event (except in the boys and girls 12s division where 60
players will be accepted) Remaining vacancies and/or alternates
will be selected from the USTA/Midwest Section Standing List in the
division of the event. Alternates will be numbered with this
Midwest Standings List. Seeding will be done based on the
USTA/Midwest Section Standing List the following week.
SCORING
All Main Draw matches will be full 2/3 sets and all
Consolation matches will play a Match Tiebreak in lieu of the third
set. Some players in the Consolation may be playing up to three
matches in a day.
TOURNAMENT HOTELS:
If you will be staying
overnight, we have teamed up with two local hotels offering a
discount for tournament players and guests:
The Country Inn and Suites is located 5 miles from the club
(3251 Deposit Dr, Grand Rapids MI 49546). The daily rate will be
$99.99 for tournament guests, but you must reserve your room 2
weeks in advance to insure the discounted rate. Breakfast and

Springhill Suites and the Hampton Inn are both located 8
miles from the club (450 Center Dr. NW), and offer a discounted
rate for standard king room with sofa pullout, or for standard room
with two double beds! The rates are based on availability. Hotel
includes full Hot & Fresh buffet breakfast, wireless internet,
Indoor pool, fitness center and business center. Ask for the "USTA

PRACTICE/WARM-UP COURTS
You may reserve a court at the rate of $10 for 30 minutes. Practice
courts may be limited to a half-court only during busy times. Call
616-363-7769.
Additional warm-up courts Saturday and Sunday are available
at MVP-Rockford, located 5 minutes north of Riverview, for the same
rates. Contact MVP at 616-784-8760 to book a time, and please
mention you are with the USTA level 1 tournament.
FIRST ROUND REPORT TIME INFORMATION WILL BE AVAILABLE ON
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7TH AT 6PM.
Come back to this page on and click on the blue Future Match
Info Report to find out your first match time as well as
win/loss time. Players from the same district will not play each
other first round unless an alternate fills a spot or more than
half the draw is from the same district.

USTA/MIDWEST SECTION DOMICILE RULES:
The USTA/Midwest Section Closed Junior Championships, the district
qualifiers, the USTA/Midwest Section Designated Tournaments and
USTA/Midwest Section Junior Davis & Wightman Cup events are
open to citizens of the U.S., permanent resident aliens in
possession of a valid alien registration card, individuals who are
applicants for adjustment to lawful permanent resident status and
who can present a USCIS receipt for a pending unadjudicated form
I-485, aliens who have resided continuously in the US for more than
one year and who are members of families of persons in the
diplomatic or consular corps and aliens who have been granted
Refugee Status, Asylee Status or Temporary Protected Status.
DRAWS WILL BE POSTED AT THE START OF THE TOURNAMENT.
NO REFUNDS AFTER PLAYER SELECTION IS COMPLETE (exceptions in
Multiple Entry Guideline)
