REFUND UPDATE
To the parents of the Charlotte Tennis Association Midcourt Cup Competitors,
On behalf of the Charlotte Tennis Association, and the Midcourt Cup Tournament Staff, we were greatly disappointed that we had to cancel the tournament due to persistent rain throughout the day on Saturday and Sunday. We are sorry for the inconvenience that this caused so many of you, especially participants who traveled from outside the Greater Charlotte area. The Charlotte Tennis Association has been hosting USTA Sanctioned junior and adult tournaments for over 10 years and we have been fortunate to have good weather, and that this is the event we were not able to complete.
The NCTA Rain Policy states that for any division where play has begun, no refund is required and for any division where no play has begun, a partial refund should be provided after deductions for actual expenses. Since many players in divisions where play had begun did not actually play a match, the CTA has decided that all players should be given the same consideration for a partial refund. We are waiting for information from the CTA Treasurer regarding final net income and will distribute all funds equally among the 266 competitors. We expect this amount to be about $20.00. Please allow a couple of weeks for receipt as the Tournament Director will have to manually process these checks.
Thanks for your patience and support of Charlotte Tennis Association.

WEATHER UPDATE
In review of the radar and forecast for today, the referee and I have consulted with the USTA and in our best case scenario we would be able to have courts ready for play around 4 or 5 pm today. In consideration for expenses of hotel reservations and that tomorrow is a school day, we have decided to cancel the tournament. Much to our dissappointment, the weather has not permitted us to play and we are sorry for the inconvenience.
Please allow us several days to finish the administrative work that follows in respect to partial refunds.

When entries close, a player shall not be entered in two or more sanctioned tournaments, if any part of the tournaments are scheduled to overlap unless each Tournament Committee involved understands the situation and concurs in writing." 12. "A player shall not enter a tournament intending to withdraw if the player’s entry is accepted in another tournament. A player shall not enter a tournament with the intention of withdrawing if the player’s entry is accepted in another tournament, unless the Tournament Committee for the tournament in which the player has entered understands the situation and concurs with the contemplated action." If a player on the Alternate list wants to enter a different tournament, he/she must withdraw from this tournament before entering another one.
