Practice Courts
There have been a lot of calls and emails regarding practice courts and pros to warmup players. My suggestion for practice courts would be Fike High School or one of the other High Schools in the area. There are also 2 courts along Forest Hills Road between Raliegh Road and Ward Blvd. I have no control over these facilities and cannot be responsible for the condition or availability of these sites. I would suggest checking out the sites on google maps with satellite view so you are sure of the locations. As for pros we have helped with this in the past but the Adult League State Championships are going on in Wilmington this weekend and there just isn't anyone in town for me to recommend. As always please send your questions by email for a more timely repsonse.

Draws Posted - IMPORTANT PLEASE READ
The draws have been posted. They are TENTATIVE as always. Things can always change including defaults, withdrawals etc. Check your times and sites regularly. You will not be contacted if something changes. It is the players job to know when and where they play and report on time. Players will report directly to their match site. Site codes are on the draw sheets. See directions and tournament map for site locations and codes. Players should report 30 minutes early for their first match. If you have questions EMAIL me. Voicemails will not be returned as quickly. If you have questions about seeding read the section titled Seeding and Selection before emailing me. Remember to bring your Medical Release to check-in. Not having your medical release prepared in advance will slow the check-in process.

Event Surfaces
B10's, G10's, and G14's will play on Clay at Lake Wilson Tennis Club. All other events will be on hard courts at the other two sites. You do not need to report to any other site.

General Information
This is a North Carolina Level 3 tournament and a Level 4 Southern tournament. This tournament may start as early as 8:00 AM on Saturday. We are expecting a large turnout so we can not accomodate any conflicts. All matches will play 2 out of 3 sets with a match tiebreak in lieu of a third set. Feed-in Consolation will be used through the quarterfinals and a playoff for third and fourth may be used. The officials will be available to answer questions and settle disputes but they will not serve as line judges for individual courts. Please promote good sportsmanship. Further information will be provided as the deadline approaches. I encourage you to register early. If you have any questions feel free to email me at s.courtneyharrell@gmail.com
|
Draw Formats and Awards
All draws with more than 8 participants will be feed-in consolation through the quarterfinals with a 3rd/4th playoff. Smaller draws may be round robins in order to maximize play. Events with more than 8 participants will be awarded 1st through 5th place awards. All other events will be awarded 1st through 3rd place awards.
|
Seeding and Selection
For all NC residents NC Standiings will take precedent. For players who reside outside of NC Southern Standings wil be considered for seedings and selection. When Southern and NC Standings conflict the tournament committee will decide on a case by case basis which standings shall be used.
|
Limited Draws
All draws are limited to 32 participants. Please take this into account when deciding what event to enter. The top 32 players will be chosen for each event so if you are playing in a higher age group for which you do not have ranking points you will mostly likely not be chosen for that event if the entries exceed 32. I suggest entering your current age group and notifying me by email if you would like to play a higher division. If space allows I may allow you to move up to the higher division once the deadline has closed and I have the final count.
|
Playing Surface
Some events will be played on clay surfaces at Lake Wilson Tennis Club and possibly one other site. All other events will play on hard court surfaces. Additional Information will be posted as soon as that is determined.
|
Medical Release
Players are required to submit a Completed Medical Release form and Parent Agreement before participating in the tournament. You may click the following link and print a copy of the form if you would like to complete it in advance.

Practice Courts
Tournament sites will be closed 30 minutes prior to the start of play. If you would like to warm-up you should do so before this time. Practice will not be allowed during the tournament once play has begun each day.
|
Alternate Hotels
Follow the link to Wilson Visitor's Bureau Accomodations page. I do not recommend the Hampton chain. The first year of the tournament we had a hurricane and rescheduled the event. They were the only hotel that would not cancel reservations without charging a 1 night minimum. There is currently no sponsor hotel.
