Important Info for 10's playing Futures tournaments:
There is now no restriction on 10's who would like to play "up". The opportunity to transition to the 78 ft. court using the green ball is now an option for 10 & under players regardless of their standing.

Required Parent Education Forum:
Required for all 10’s & 12’s playing in Futures tournaments, the 2011 Tar Heel Qualifier, and either of the 2011 North Carolina Junior State Closed Championships. At least one parent or guardian of a child planning to enter the 10’s or the 12’s of any of the above tournaments, must view the education forum prior to the deadline of the tournament in order for the their child to be eligible to play. This is a onetime requirement only.

Scoring Format:
Main draw and consolation will play the best of three sets playing a 10 point match tiebreak for the third set. Doubles will consist of an 8 game pro set.

Refunds:
After the online entry deadline, a refund is not required to be returned to the player.

NCTA Rain Policy:
NCTA Rain Policy for all sanctioned tournaments
1. Any division where play has begun – no refund
2. Any division where no play has begun – a partial refund after deductions for actual
expenses.
3. All completed scores must be reported. Incomplete matches are recorded as
ABANDONED( match started but Referee decided not to complete) matches.
Matches never started are recorded as UNPLAYED
4. No tournament may reschedule without the approval of the S & S Committee.
5. If a tournament is unable to complete the tournament within the sanctioned dates,
no extensions will be allowed. The tournament will be over.
6. It is at the discretion of the tournament committee if the entire tournament is canceled
due to inclement weather.
7. Check the alternate scoring methods for inclement weather
8. Notify the NCTA of a cancellation.
9. Head tax is charged for any divisions where play has begun

10 and under:
10 & Under Quick Facts
Racquets/Balls: The racquet must not be larger than 25”. The low compression ORANGE ball is used.
Court/Lines: 60 feet long and 21 feet wide (singles) & 27 feet wide (doubles). Hard courts use painted lines, masking tape, or chalk. Clay courts use brush lines, chalk, throw down, or nailed tape lines.
Net: Height 3ft. which is a standard tennis court net.
Scoring: Players will play the best of 3 sets. The first player to win 4 points wins the game. The first player to win 4 games wins the set. If the game score is tied at 40/40(deuce), one point will be played to decide the game (no ad scoring). The receiver may decide which court to receive the serve.
A set tiebreaker will be played for the third set. The first player to win 7 points (by 2 points) wins the tiebreaker. To start the tiebreaker, the first server serves one point from the deuce court and then players will alternate serving two points each, beginning from the ad court.
Changing Sides: During a set- players will change sides after odd numbered games (1, 3, 5, etc). During a 3rd set tiebreaker, players will change sides after every 6 points have been played (6, 12 etc)
Serve: The serve must be hit out of the air diagonally into service box from the baseline. Change servers after every game. Players will spin a racquet to determine who serves first.
Doubles will use same scoring format with 27' wide court.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to all USTA members. Entries must be submitted by Sunday, August 21, 2011 11:59:00 PM Eastern Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
