2011 NEMA Invitational

are now posted. Congratulations to all participants. The level of play was the best in 15 years. Very impressive. Special congratulations to Bullis (DC), winners of the 2011 Sportsmanship Bowl. After several years' absence, they were a very welcome addition to the tournament field. For the second time in fifteen years (the other was 1999), two teams tied as tournament team champions (with 27.5 points each): Beacon (NY) and Potomac (VA). Following were: McDonogh (MD) with 20.5, Episcopal Academy (PA) 17, Blair (NJ) 15.5, Bullis (DC) 13, Lawrenceville (NJ) 12, Wyoming Seminary (PA) 10.5, Brunswick (CT) 10, Haverford (PA) 8.5, Gonzaga (DC) 8, Peddie (NJ) 6.5, Park (MD) 2, Hawken (OH) 1.5, Gunnery (CT) 1, and Sidwell Friends (DC) 0. McDonogh's Alex Sidney repeated as #1 singles champion, again this year besting Beacon's Quinton Vega.
