February 16 at 3PM Eastern. Please check your match time and site,
first matches will be at multiple sites( FS)-Five Seasons
Cincinnati, (HP)-Harpers Point and( M-An)- Mercy Anderson. Site
addresses/phone numbers are listed below. All other match times
except your first time are subject to change, so please go off your
match cards and check the draws regularly.
LEVEL 5/USTA MIDWEST POINTS PER ROUND
Thank you for entering the Tommy Fontova Memorial
Tournament, a Midwest elevated level 5 event. This tournament is
for Boys 10-18s singles. Tournament starts Friday evening at 4 PM
(we will try to schedule players traveling longer distances at 7PM
or later Friday) and most/all draws will finish Sunday. We may
finish up large draws on Monday (President's day, February 21st),
depending on entries but we will avoid this if possible. Those
players entering the Boys 10 and under age division should be
reminded that the tournament will be played with the green-dot
decompression tennis ball, but on the full 78 foot court, which is
consistent with the Midwest section rules for 2011.
SITES
Main Site: Five Seasons Sports Club- Cincinnati
(FS on drawsheet). Five Seasons is located at 11790 Snider Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45249. The Club at Harpers Point (HP on drawsheet)
will be used Friday and Saturday evening for some consolation
matches. The Club at Harpers Point is located at 8675 East Kemper
Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45249. The phone number is 513-489-9700. These
two sites are approximately 1 mile apart and under a five minute
drive from one another. The Mercy Healthplex-Anderson (M-An on
drawsheet) will be used Friday night for a few matches Friday
night. Mercy Healthplex- Anderson is located at 7495 State Rd.
Cincinnati, OH 45255. The phone number is 513-624-1871. Lastly,
Five Seasons Sports Club-Northern Kentucky(NKY on drawsheet) will
also be used for consolation matches on Saturday night. Five
Seasons-Northern Kentucky is located at 345 Thomas More Parkway,
Crestview Hills, KY 41017. The phone number is 859-341-3687.
SEEDING/SELECTIONS
ALL ENTRANTS WILL BE ACCEPTED INTO THE TOURNAMENT
WHO ENTER BY THE DEADLINE. We will not be limiting draws and this
tournament does not have a selection process. All seedings will be
done based off the most recent USTA/Midwest Standing list which for
this event was February, 10th.
USTA CONTACT INFORMATION
Procedure for tournament registration: because of
Privacy Laws, your contact information from USTA membership doesn't
show up in the Tournament Directors' software anymore. Only what
you indicate during the registration process shows up. We have no
way of contacting you if you leave these areas blank. For instance,
your opponent is sick. You may make an extra trip here and not need
to. You must indicate all phone numbers, home, cell (a must!), work
and your email address on each registration, EACH and EVERY time,
for each and every tournament you register for.
SCHEDULE OF PLAY
As noted above, a limited number of matches will
begin at 4pm Friday with most matches schedule for 6PM or later.
Play will begin at 8am on Saturday and Sunday.
SCORING
All matches consist of two tiebreak sets (with a
set tiebreak at six games all), followed by in lieu of a third set,
a match tiebreak (first player to 10 points with a 2 point lead).
Advantage scoring will be used for all matches.

FIRST ROUND MATCH TIME
Come back to this page on the Wednesday (February
16th) before the start of the tournament and click on the blue
Future Match Info Report to find out your
first match time. If for some reason first round match times need
to be changed we will email you immediately, this is why it is
important we are provided contact information when entering. Please
rely on your match card for any future match times, as match times
posted online during the tournament may be tentative. If you have
any questions during the tournament please contact Five Seasons at
513-469-1400 and ask for the tournament desk.
PRACTICE COURTS
Practice courts are available on Thursday and
Friday before the tournament starts by calling Five Seasons at
513-469-1400. The courts cost between $25-35 per hour depending on
time. We cannot book courts more than one week in advance. We will
provide additional practice court sites as the tournament
approaches.
WARM-UP COURTS
As listed above, a limited number of courts are
available 7-8AM before matches start on Saturday and Sunday. Call
Five Seasons for price/availability.
USTA/MIDWEST SECTION SUSPENSION POINT SYSTEM AND
SIGNING UP FOR TWO TOURNAMENTS
Signing up for two events: The USTA Code of
Conduct and Suspension Point System is in effect. You are expected
to play the entire event as scheduled. The USTA/Midwest Section
Junior Competition Committee has adopted a new Suspension Point
System. All players will be given five (5) suspension points for
entering two or more tournaments that take place at the same time,
in whole or in part, unless each Tournament Committee involved
agrees with the multiple entries in writing via e-mail. This
applies to all players who signed up for the tournament including
alternates.
WITHDRAWS/MIDWEST SUSPENSION POINT
SYSTEM
If you need to withdraw while registration is still open, please go
to our homepage and in the left margin click on "Edit Registration"
and proceed to withdraw. No reason is necessary. If registration
has closed and tournament has not begun yet, please email
SchubertBH@hotmail.com and list the reason for withdraw. If
tournament has begun, please call the club at 513-469-1400 and ask
for tournament desk. REMEMBER when withdrawing
from a USTA event once the selections have been made, the only
reasons that are accepted by the USTA Referee without incurring
five suspension points are injury, illness or family
emergency.
WITHDRAWING/CHANGING AGE DIVISIONS
Use the "Edit Registration Link" (in left margin) to
Withdraw or Change Age Divisions, while registration is open. WE
cannot withdraw you while registration is still open. After
deadline passes, you must withdraw by contacting Brian , preferably
and more rapidly received via email SchubertBH@hotmail.com
or by calling 513-469-1400. You must give the reason for withdraw
in your message. You cannot change age divisions after
deadline.
SEEDING REGULATIONS
The number of players seeded shall equal a power of two (for
example 2,4,8,16,32). The maximum ratio of players seeded shall be
one in three, except that any draw may have two seeds. No more
seeded players at #'s 5,6,7,9,10,11,12,13,14,15, etc. For reference
