There will be a league ending party on Aug. 3, 2011 at City Park 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. There will be carnival and tennis activities. Hope to see you there!!

Currently posted draws are for the last week of play, July 28.

G12s and B12s play first to 4 games (win by 1). All other divisions play first to 6 games (tiebreak at 5-5).

There will seven weekly mini-tournaments for Boys and Girls 12 & under, 14 & under, and 18 & under age divisions. Mini-tournaments will be on Thursdays. The first mini-tournament will be on June 16. You must sign up each week by 6:00 p.m. Wednesday to get in that week's tournament. Sign up with your coach at your team site or else by email to movtasummer@att.net. Note: signing up through your team coach may be an earlier deadline than 6:00pm Wed. (follow your team's procedures). When signing up by email (movtasummer@att.net) include player's name, age division, and team.

Players will earn points individually and also for their team. You do not have to be on a team to particiapate. Teams participating: City Park, Erickson, Greenmont, Jackson Park, Marietta, and North Hills. Your fees are collected by your team's program. If you want to play in the tournaments independent of a team, the cost is $20---contact movtasummer@att.net to arrange payment.

Mini-tournaments will be on Thursdays. Match sites will be City Park, Erickson, Greenmont, and Jackson Park. Schedules for each age group are posted above under Tournament Reports. These are wallet sized schedules. If anybody would like a nice 8.5 in by 11 in schedule in an easy to read format, please email movtasummer@att.net

On Wednesdays the player list for that week will be input by 9:00pm. It is a good idea to verify your name is in the list at this time (phone and email is available for corrections at that time). The draws will be posted each week at this site very late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning. Results will be posted as soon as possible Thursday or Friday.

If a player signs up but fails to show up, he/she will lose by default. After the first default, the player will be warned. After the second default, the player will be warned again. After the third default, the player may not play for the rest of the summer (no refunds). PLEASE AVOID "NO SHOWS" and AVOID SHOWING UP WITHOUT SIGNING UP (don't forget to sign up by Wed. evening).

Standings will be updated weekly and posted at this site. The tennisengine ranking program will be used as a "major guide" for standings--it factors in wins, closeness of scores, strength of opponents, and results against common opponents. [ In some cases MOVTA will override tennisengine calculations due to head-to-head results. This may be necessary due to the nature of the league in that players do not always end up with equal number of matches or strenghths of opponents.] To be eligible for individual standings in a given age division a player must play in at least 3 mini-tournaments in that division. To be eligible for team standings in a division, a team must have at least two players who each play in at least 3 mini-tournaments in that division. Final Awards will be given to the top six individuals and the top team in each division.

In the event of rain, matches will be cancelled. Please be aware of weather patterns. It may be raining at your house, but not at the tennis site. It may rain in the morning, but courts may be dry by match time. If courts are dry, matches should go on. If it begins raining during play, completed games will count (if one player reached min 4). Please report all scores!
