DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME STARTS THIS WEEKEND!!!
Players, parents, and coaches...Please do not forget that DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME begins at 2 a.m. Sunday morning. Do not forget to move your clocks BACK an hour.

SITES AND PRACTICE COURTS
Matches will be played at ATC, as well as area high schools, local university courts and some private clubs. CHECK DRAWS CAREFULLY. Practice courts are available at area public parks at first come, first served basis. NO PRACTICE COURTS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE MATCH SITES.

TOURNAMENT CHECK IN
We will open TOURNAMENT check in on Friday night, November 2, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Arlington Tennis Center. Your gift from the ATA can be picked up at this time. It may also be picked up at any time at ATC during the tournament.
Please make sure to leave a cell phone number at the time of check in.
WATER IS NOT AVAILABLE ON COURT AT ANY SITE, SO PLEASE BRING IT WITH YOU!!!

ENTERING THE TOURNAMENT
All players are encouraged to enter this tournament on line. Registration on line is the fastest and most secure means of entering our event. If you do not receive a confirmation at the end of your on line registration, or you have any other on line registration issues, contact linkteam@usta.com. Players may register via regular mail (no fax, email or phone entries), but remember that the entry, including fee, must be IN THE HANDS of the tournament director by the deadline.

DEADLINE: OCTOBER 18 - NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED
The entry deadline for this tournament is October 18, 2007, 11:59 PM. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED. We will not have a waiting list. Do not wait until the day before the tournament to check on your entry status.

USTA MEMBERSHIP INFOMATION.
PLEASE CHECK YOUR USTA MEMBER INFORMATION IS CURRENT PRIOR TO REGISTRATION. Email addresses are helpful, as are cell phones. There may be a time during the tournament that you may need to be contacted.

PLAYERS MUST CHECK THEMSELVES IN FOR MATCHES.
Check in at the scheduled sites for EACH MATCH is expected, 15-30 minutes before scheduled match times. Players, not parents or coaches must check themselves in for their matches.

MATCH TIMES
It is the player's responsibility to check draws and know the times of their matches. Ask if you're not sure.

FORMATS and SCHEDULES
ZATs play Singles only. Boys' and Girls' 12-18s play two out three tie-break sets, no-ad scoring, regular tie-breaks for the first and second sets. A 10-point tie-break is played for third set. Two-minute set breaks between the first and second sets are mandatory. A two minute set break also, between second set and match tie-break. Boys' and Girls' 10s are 8-game pro sets, no-ad scoring, with a regular tie-break at 8-all.
All divisions are "first match loser" consolation. Each player should play two matches before being eliminated.

DRAWS and SEEDING
Draws are posted. Check carefully - times and location of play is on the draw!!! Boys' and Girls' 12s-18s' play draws of 32. Boys' and Girls' 10s, draws of 16.
Seeding will be based on USTA Texas Section Standings, Preliminary Ranking Lists for Championship players who are re-qualifying and head to head records. Seeds will be distributed throughout the draws using the wave method.

AWARDS
Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and Consolation in each draw for Boys' and Girls' 12-18s. All players in Boys' and Girls' 10s are awarded certificates of participation.
A Sportsmanship award, a scholarship, to a camp at John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch. It is given to one player that shows outstanding sportsmanship both on and off court.

ROVING OFFICIALS
All officials for our tournament are USTA certified. At least one roving official will be at each site.

GRACE PERIODS/POINT PENALTY SYSTEM
The Point Penalty System will be strictly enforced.
THERE IS NO LONGER A GRACE PERIOD FOR FIRST MATCHES. THE CLOCK WILL START AT SCHEDULED MATCH TIME. THIS INCLUDES ANY MATCH, IF A COURT IS OPEN AND YOUR MATCH IS CALLED, BUT YOU HAVE NOT CHECKED IN AT THE SITE DESK OR ARE NOT PRESENT.

WITHDRAWING PROCEDURE AND PENALTIES
PLAYERS WHO ARE WITHDRAWING MUST DO SO IN WRITING VIA EMAIL TO arlingtontennis@yahoo.com, and a valid reason must be specified. Players who must withdraw are asked to do so as early as possible. Beginning Friday morning, the tournament staff will attempt to contact players whose opponents have withdrawn late (after 6:00 PM Friday).
Players may receive penalties, if they withdraw after the deadline and after draws are posted. Players who do not show for matches (first or subsequent rounds) will also receive penalty points.
Players that withdraw from the tournament after the deadline, October 18, will not receive a refund. Refunds will also not be received if the tournament is canceled due to weather.

RAIN
Rain is not expected, but, we have a "rain game plan" in place that may involve changes in match dates and times. Please be prepared to stay late on Sunday, if necessary. More information will be available if necessary.

TENNIS ATTIRE
All players and spectators are asked to wear traditional attire appropriate for a family tennis environment. All guests (players and spectators) are required to wear shirts (including ladies wearing shirts over sports bras), and no bare stomachs / abdomens. Shorts and skirts should be of an appropriate length, as well.

WATER AND OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Spectators are not allowed on the courts at any time.
No pets are allowed in the ATC proshop/building or inside the fenced area around the courts.
Smoking is not allowed in the proshop/building or fenced areas.
Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on the property (including the parking lot).
No water is on the court at sites or please come with plenty of ice, water, or other sports drinks for your matches.
At ATC, cups are available in the proshop, and we have a large commercial ice machine and water fountain (with jug spout) available on the northwest patio. Players are also welcome to purchase water, fountain drinks, sports drinks and juices in the proshop, or they may bring their own water jugs.

No Selection Process. All registered players will be selected.
Entry to this tournament is open to specified residents only. Entries must be submitted by Thursday, October 18, 2007 11:59:00 PM Central Time. Only USTA members can register online if available.
