DOUBLES
PLEASE CHECK THE DOUBLES COMPETITORS LIST FOR YOUR NAME
If you should be entered and your name is not present, email tennistournament@comcast.net
If you should NOT be entered and your name is present, email tennistournament@comcast.net
If you are supposed to be paired with someone specific, email tennistournament@comcast.net
Remember, that the Doubles Event is just as important as the Singles Event, especially at this age when College Coaches are recruiting. If you do not show up for your match, you will be penalized. An excuse like "I did not know my Mom signed me up for Doubles" is not acceptable - LOOK AT THE COMPETITORS LIST, PLEASE.
If you are entered in Doubles but do not have a partner, your contact information will be given to other players if they request it.
Last opportunity to sign up for doubles is at the Mandatory Check-In by 6:00 pm. Please note that you are responsible for entering or withdrawing from doubles as well as finding a partner. At the mandatory check-in you will be asked to confirm your doubles status & partner. If you do not have a partner by 6:00 pm, we will do our best to assign you one. However, if there is an odd number of entries, there are no guarantees. Any alternates or wildcards that were selected to play singles, will have to notify me if you want to play doubles.
The sooner you provide us with accurate doubles information, the sooner we can prepare and post the Doubles Draw. Thank you for your cooperation.
|
MANDATORY TOURNAMENT CHECK IN
Mandatory means just that. We are staying until 10:00 pm for your convenience to work on the Doubles Draw. We feel strongly that you should be able to make it by that time.
For those of you that "just can't make it by that time" need to do the following and do not call:
1. Make sure your entry fee has been paid - check the Tournament Entry Fee Report
2. Fax in your Medical Release Waiver WITH your CELL phone numbers & HOTEL info to 251/208-5188.
3. Show up 30 minutes before your match time. Please be patient with us when checking in, we will be focused on getting matches on and off the court. Checking in people at this time will be a detriment to the tournament.
4. Those of you playing 8:30 am matches at the Mobile Tennis Center will need to be on your assigned court at 7:45. Make sure you allow yourself plenty of time.
On Sunday we will only have one person checking in players for the tournament (those that did not come the night before). Obviously this is not enough to check in everyone 30 minutes before their matchtimes. If you are not on your court by your assigned match time, you will be penalized. Because you did not check-in the night before, is no excuse for being late for your match. We cannot predict if there will be 5 people or 50 people waiting to check in when you do. You cannot play your match until you have checked in for the tournament. If there is a line that causes you to be late for your match, unfortunately that will be your problem that could have been avoided. Therefore, we urge all of you to check-in on Saturday this includes Locals, Commuters and Travelers.
Thank you for your cooperation.

MATCH CHECK IN PROCEDURES
MATCH CHECK IN RULE:
Regulation IV.A.2 now states "The referee may penalize a player who is on site for lateness if a court is available and the player has failed to check in at the tournament desk by the scheduled match time."
THIS MEANS, IF THERE IS 1 OPEN COURT AT 10:00 AND THERE ARE 3 MATCHES TO PUT ON, THE REFEREE WILL START THE CLOCK FOR LATENESS FOR ANYONE WHO HAS NOT CHECKED IN FOR 10:00 - EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH COURTS FOR ALL 3 MATCHES.
1. The first matches of each day will report directly to the court at 8:15, and balls will be on the court. Matches should begin promptly at 8:30. As the tournament progresses, we may start the first matches later in the morning but the procedure will remain the same for the first scheduled time of each day.
2. For all matches after 8:30 am, please get in a single-file line at the tournament desk at least 15 minutes before your scheduled match time. Do not wait until 9:59 to check in for 10:00. Please go to the bathroom, fill your water bottle, etc. before you check in.
3. Once you have checked in, please stay near the tournament desk until we tell you the court assignment. You must be where you can hear us call your name after you check in.
4. We will be watching the clock for lateness. Please do not ask if your opponent has checked in - you have other things to think about. The staff and the Referee will take care of lateness issues you need only worry about your own timeliness.

|
CONTACT INFORMATION
Due to Alternate notification, Doubles, Time Changes, and Draw Changes, it is imperative for you to add contact information (email and phone) during the online registration process when asked. So a player does not lose out, please help us and yourselves by offering this contact information.

Players who meet the U.S. or residency requirements, the USTA age eligibility requirements, and membership requirements (current USTA membership) may enter. In addition, professional players may enter.
Form of Entry:
Players must enter using TennisLink. Please note that if you are not selected in the initial process, your credit card is not processed and cannot be later. If you are selected from the alternates list, you will have to overnight your entry fee - No Exceptions.
Entry to more that one Age division:
At this time you are not allowed to enter more than one age division. All of the age divisions for Spring National Championships are considered the same tournament even though the events are played on different dates in different locations.

Wildcard applications are only considered in extreme cases and are rarely awarded. Wildcard applications are available through your section office. Your section office can give you guidance in this area. If you are awarded a wildcard, it is your responsibility to communicate with us and overnight your entry fee.
Doubles Entry:
The following players are eligible to enter the doubles event: Singles Players on the Competitors List, Singles Alternates who appear on a Sectional Endorsement List, USTA National Doubles Qualifiers, and Players with doubles-only endorsements.
A player may not enter one age division in singles and another in doubles. Example: Younger brother not entered in the 18s singles cannot play doubles with older brother who is playing in the 18s, and still play in the 16s singles at a later date.
|
ENTERING 2 TOURNAMENTS - READ CAREFULLY!
