SUNDAY TIMES NOW POSTED
The schedule has been redone and posted for tomorrow. Please double check your start time now.
Match times have been shortened a bit. Best two out of three short sets. Short sets are to 4 games, tiebreaker at 4-4 (so if players get to 3-3, play two more games and either win 5-3 or play tiebreaker at 4-4). No add scoring throughout. If players split sets, a supertiebreaker (first to 10 points win by 2 points) will be played in leiu of a third set.
Consolations will be run on Monday, starting at 11 AM/Noon. W can't do it any sooner or later as I need to take the warmer times of the day and need a good chunk of time to play draws out.
There are also a few main draw matches scheduled for Monday.
We do understand that in order to play Monday matches, players will have to miss school and parents may have to miss work or make other arrangements. Monday is within our sanction and the tournament note that was posted mentioned we might need to use it to finish if there was inclement weather. If we didn't have Monday, we wouldn't be able to continue and the tournament would be done, so hopefully it works for some players!
If you decide not to play on Monday, that is fine. You just need to let me know within one hour of the finish of your last match on Sunday. If you don't let me know, MAS policy is to take any points you did earn away. This is not to be punitive, it is to prevent players from showing up (missing school, work, paying for hotel, etc) and having their opponent no show.
Please remember that consolations are FICQ. Players should return to the tournament desk after each of their matches to find out what they are eligible for and let me know if they do/do not want to play.
It will be chilly in the morning and evenings, we suggest players wear layers. Many players start in hats and gloves and take layers off as they warm up.
Just to confirm, it does not have to be 40 degrees to start or finish the tournament, it needs to be 40 degrees for most of the day, which it will be!
If you arrive to the tournament and want to check in without leaving your car, just text me at 703-862-8702 and put your name in the subject line. I will then text you once we have an opponent and a court.
Thank you all again for your patience! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Tournament matches will be played as long as outdoor temperatures are at least 40 degrees (considering windchill) each day, long enough to get the tournament played (for at least a few hours each day). It does not have to be 40 degrees in order to start matches, but overall 40 degrees that day. If matches cannot be played/completed on the first day because of weather, the next day(s) within sanction will be used. Please be sure that players are available all dates of sanction. Refunds/credits will not be issued if play cannot occur on the first day and player is not available the other day(s) or if tournament has begun but cannot be completed. If weather and matches cannot be played at all within sanction dates, players will be issued a credit for a future outdoor David LeMair Tennis Tournament in 2018 (more than 20 to choose from). remove

Sign Up Consolations
Consolations are offered so that every player has the opportunity to play at least two matches (barring rain or no other players signing up). Consolations are Sign-Up in order to avoid any no shows and penalties. Please return to the tournament desk after your match (win or lose). Given most draw formats are FIC or NEF, please return to the desk even
after you have played more than one match to see if you are eligible for consolations. If you are eligible, let the tournament director know if you do or do not want to participate in the consolations.
