Marin Junior Tennis Summer Challenger

PLAYERS/PARENTS- TAM HIGH SCHOOL WILL BE USED INSTEAD OF REDWOOD HIGH SCHOOL THIS WEEKEND FOR PLAY. THERE IS A LARGE SWIM MEET AT REDWOOD, AND IT WAS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT CONDITIONS FOR PLAY WOULD BE MUCH BETTER AT TAM HIGH DUE TO LESS NOISE, CONGESTION, ETC. MOST SCHEDULED MATCHES WILL BE AT SAME TIME, HOWEVER, SOME MATCH TIMES WILL CHANGE DUE TO 5 COURTS OF PLAY INSTEAD OF 6. DRAW TIMES WILL BE UPDATED IN THE MORNING. PLEASE CHECK AGAIN IN THE MORNING FOR SATURDAY MATCH SCHEDULE.

If a player is unable to compete, please notify TD immediately! Prior to tournament, email is most effective at holti55@gmail.com. Once play begins, please try to reach via cell phone at 415.269.4445.

Please check in at the site where you are scheduled to play at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled time.

If inclement weather is an issue or potential issue, updates will be communicated via email on the tournament web page. There will also be a general message posted on the TD cell phone, keeping people apprised of scheduling updates if they don't have access to a computer.

All singles events will play best 2 out of 3 tiebreak sets with regular scoring. A 10-point Match Tiebreaker will be used in lieu of a 3rd set. All events are single elimination, however, there will be a 3/4 place playoff for all divisions with 4 or more players. All doubles events will play 8-game pro-sets, regular scoring, with a regular 12-point tiebreaker to be played at 8-8.

All singles divisions will feature a 3/4 place playoff provided that draw sizes are 4 or more players.

PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE DOUBLES IN THIS EVENT FOR THOSE WHO WISH TO PARTICIPATE. THERE IS NO CHARGE TO PLAY, IT IS INCLUDED IN THE ENTRY FEE FOR SINGLES. WHEN ENTERING, PLEASE INDICATE WHO YOU ARE PLAYING WITH. ALL DOUBLES MATCHES WILL BE SINGLE ELIMINATION UNLESS THERE ARE ONLY 3 PARTICIPANTS, IN WHICH CASE THERE WILL BE A ROUND-ROBIN FORMAT. MATCHES ARE 8-GAME PRO SETS WITH REGULAR TIEBREAKER AT 8-8. REGULAR SCORING WILL BE USED.

IF PLAYERS ARE UNABLE TO FIND A PARTNER, PLEASE EMAIL TD TO REQUEST THAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO PLAY AND TD WILL TRY TO MATCH THEM UP WITH A PLAYER FROM THEIR AGE DIVISION.

STRINGING AND RACQUET SERVICES WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING THE TOURNAMENT. WEST COAST TENNIS WILL BE ON CALL WITH BOTH SAME DAY AND OVERNIGHT SERVICES. THERE IS NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE FOR SAME-DAY SERVICE. PLEASE SPECIFY REQUEST.

Please wear clothing with pockets to hold tennis balls! Players will be given three balls per match, but need to be able to hold a second ball for their second serve. T-shirts are ok and shirts with cut off sleeves. Tennis shoes required.

Snacks such as granola bars, chips, pretzels and water will be available to players free of charge.
